Preparation
The game consists of several turns, depending on the number of players. At the start of each turn, cards and monetary units (M.U.) are dealt as indicated below:
| Players | Turns | Cards per turn | M.U. per turn |
|---|---|---|---|
| 6 | 2 | 6 | 12 |
| 5 | 3 | 5 | 10 |
| 4 | 3 | 6 | 12 |
| 3 | 4 | 6 | 12 |
The Growth Indicators are placed on box zero. Each player is then required to choose Share Indicators of a specific colour.
A player is then chosen to start play. This player is the first to complete his / her Round, after which the play passes to the player on the starter's left and so on. When no player is left with cards, the next turn begins. The starter of the new turn is the player to the left of the starter of the previous turn. At the end of the final turn, the scores are calculated.
Round
A round involves:
- Playing a card.
- Selling a company share, if chosen.
- Buying a company share, if chosen.
Playing a Card
Cards can assume three different functions. When a card is played, one of these functions must be chosen.
Card Example
- Function 1: A Market Indicator of the company Omega is placed on a free space on the board, or a previously placed Omega Indicator is turned, making it a protected market indicator.
- Function 2: The Alpha Growth Indicator is raised one level.
- Function 3: The Epsilon Growth Indicator is raised one level.
When the Growth Indicator of a company reaches level 4, the President (see below) has the option of placing two Market Indicators of the company on spaces adjacent to indicators of the same company. Through growth, indicators of other companies may be replaced if unprotected. At this point, the Growth Indicator is moved back to box zero.
Alternatively, the President may wait for the Growth Indicator to reach level six, in which case he has the option of placing three Market Indicators instead of two, then proceeding in the manner as indicated above.
The Buying and Selling of Shares
When a share is sold, the seller collects its value from the bank, and an indicator is removed from the board. The price of the share sold is equal to the number of shares of the company.
When a share is bought, the buyer pays its price to the bank, and an indicator is placed on the board. The price of the share bought is one M.U. more than the number of shares of the company.
Example — the situation as indicated in the diagram: if player X wishes to sell a share of the company Gamma, he / she will collect 4 monetary units and will remove one of his / her two indicators on the board. However, if player X wishes to buy another share of the company Gamma, he / she will pay 5 monetary units and will place his / her third indicator on the board.
Presidency
The player that buys the first share of a company becomes its president. As the game continues, should another player acquire more shares than the current president, he / she immediately takes over the presidency of that company. Presidency is shown on the board with a Share Indicator.
Special case: if the president of a company has the same number of shares as several other players, and chooses to sell a share, he / she decides who will be the next president of that company.
Scoring
At the end of the final turn, the scoring is calculated in the following manner:
- First the value of each company is calculated. A company is worth the number of Market Indicators it has on the board.
- Next the value of each player is calculated by multiplying the number of shares they own by the company value.
- The final score of a player is the addition of his value in each company with the number of monetary units he possesses at the end.
The player with the highest score is the winner.
