Material
- 30 puzzle templates (Knobelvorlagen) on 15 sheets
- 4 sets of 21 puzzle pieces (Legeteile), 84 pieces in total
Each set of 21 pieces shows the same back colour. There are 4 back colours, so there are 4 sets.
Game Setup
Before the first game, the pieces must be carefully popped out of the cardboard sheets.
The Puzzle Task (Die Knobelaufgabe)
Place the pieces exactly on the puzzle template. Through logical combination and some trying, you find out where each individual piece belongs.
- No field may remain empty.
- No free space outside the symbol areas may be covered by a piece.
- Each piece has only one correct position, because every puzzle template has a unique solution.
The Puzzle Template (Knobelvorlage)
Each puzzle template shows a group of hexagonal fields with symbols on a green background. Each field to be covered is a hexagonal space marked with a symbol. The fields to be covered are marked with an arrow in the example illustration on the rules sheet.
The difficulty of each puzzle is shown by stars at the bottom of the template, from one star (easy) to five stars (extremely difficult).
[Illustration: the example template on the rules sheet shows the fields to be covered with an arrow and the difficulty scale "Schwierigkeitsgrad" (★ easy to ★★★★★ extremely difficult).]
Game Components: Piece Sets
Each set of 21 pieces shows the same back colour. The back colours are yellow, purple, blue and green. Each piece is a double hexagon with a symbol on each half. The symbols on the front of the pieces are green dot, yellow sunburst, red starburst, blue star, orange hexagon and purple ring.

Playing Together (Gemeinsam knobeln)
Use the 21 pieces that show the same back colour, and lay one of the puzzle templates in the middle. Then solve the puzzle together until the puzzle task is solved.
Playing Against Each Other (Gegeneinander knobeln)
Each player uses their own set of 21 pieces that shows the same back colour, and their own puzzle template. All players solve at the same time, each on their own template, racing one another.
The player who solves their puzzle task first wins.
Solutions
The solutions to all 30 puzzle tasks can be found on the publisher's website at www.kosmos.de/product.html?_id=4002516990246_lang=DE (as printed on the rules sheet; the URL is reproduced as printed).
Transcriber's Notes
- The rules sheet does not describe the symbols by name. The symbol names used above (dot, sunburst, starburst, star, hexagon, ring) are descriptions of the printed pictures, added for clarity.
- The rules sheet does not state whether pieces may be rotated or flipped. Nothing about this has been added here.
- The rules sheet describes no turn order, scoring or end condition beyond the solving of the puzzle task described above.
