When can the group camp, and how is it different from just ending the day?

Camping is offered in the travel phase, after you choose a new connected location and before you build its path deck, and it is optional; you can keep playing after traveling. You cannot camp without traveling. Camping lets you swap rewards into your decks before the next day, while ending the day by running out of cards or a campaign instruction does not. Arrive-at effects of the place you were heading wait for the next day's setup.
