During step 7 (Remove Casualties) of a battle only. It keeps the loser's Units in Eldervale and can also save a Dominated Monster. It cannot react to spells that send Units to the Underworld, and keeping Units there does not start a new battle. Refreshing it costs 3 Swords on your turn.
