Components
- 1 game board (1 meadow and 1 straw-bale disc with spinner arrow)
- 4 racing pigs
- 4 mud markers
- 4 photo walls (each with 6 photos)
- 1 farmer with puddle stand
- 1 broom
Setup
Before the First Game
- Carefully punch all parts out of the punch sheets.
- Place the meadow board in the box so that the dotted line on the back of the meadow lies over the dotted line of the plastic base, and press the board down firmly until it clicks into place.
- Separate the two parts of the spinner arrow. Insert the spinner arrow into the straw-bale disc from above, and press the round plastic disc against it from below until the arrow clicks into place. Now place the straw-bale disc into the recess in the middle of the box, aligned so that the numbers on the straw-bale disc lie above the matching numbers on the plastic base.
Game Setup
Each player receives a racing pig, a mud marker and a photo wall with six photos (five different pig portraits and one farmer photo). There are no colour photos on your photo wall yet, only "missed" black-and-white photos. Turn all six photos of your photo wall to the black-and-white side. At the start of the game your pig is clean. Turn your mud marker to "clean" accordingly.
Place the farmer into the puddle stand and put it in any mud puddle.*
* Beginner variant: "The farmer takes a nap!" For a quick introduction, play without the farmer. Set the farmer aside and turn the farmer photo on your photo wall to the colour side before the game begins. The first player who has collected all five Drecksau photos wins!
Playing the Game
It is played one after another, counter-clockwise. The youngest player is the start player and places their racing pig on the start line (on the straw path at the red water hose).
Give the spinner arrow a spin. The number it lands on tells you how many times you may nudge your racing pig with the broom. Now aim with the broom and nudge your pig in the direction of play, counter-clockwise (the direction of play is also shown by the water arrow that trickles out of the red hose).
What can happen:
- Your pig dashes forward and stays lying on the meadow.
- Your pig slides into a mud puddle. Excellent! Turn your mud marker to "muddy" (if you are already muddy, nothing happens). Then place your pig anywhere on the edge of the mud hole (without moving any other pig).
- Your pig slides into a water puddle. Oh no, you become clean again! Turn your mud marker to "clean" (if you are already clean, nothing happens). Then place your pig anywhere on the edge of the water hole (without moving any other pig).
- Your pig shoots over the finish line (the red water hose at the straw path):
- If you are muddy (see your mud marker), you get a genuine Drecksau photo! Turn one of the photos on your photo wall to the colour side showing the pig portrait.
- If you are clean, there is unfortunately no photo.
Further things that can happen:
- You nudged the farmer out of the puddle with your pig? A powerful bump! Place the farmer in a different mud or water puddle of your choice. In addition, you receive the farmer photo on your photo wall: turn it to the colour side (the farmer photo is only collected once in the whole game).
- You nudged your pig too hard and it flies out of the box? Too bad! Place your pig back on the start line and turn your mud marker to "clean". Your turn is unfortunately over immediately.
- If a racing pig is left lying on its side after tipping over, set it back up in that same position.
- If you spun a 2 or a 3 (and your pig did not fly out of the box), you may nudge your pig once or twice more straight afterwards. Then your right-hand neighbour takes their turn.
- Should your pig shoot backwards over the finish line, there is no photo and your turn is immediately over. Place your pig back on the straw path and turn your mud marker to "clean".
NOTE: You may also nudge your racing pig backwards, against the direction of play (for example to reach a missed mud puddle or to push another player into a water puddle). However, the finish line (red water hose) must not be crossed!
Further things that can also happen:
- You shot another player's pig over the finish line? If their mud marker shows "muddy", they immediately receive a colour photo on their photo wall.
- You pushed another player's pig into a mud puddle? Then they turn their mud marker to "muddy" and place their pig on the edge of the mud hole.
- You pushed another player's pig into a water puddle? Then they must turn their mud marker to "clean" and place their pig on the edge of the water hole.
Caution with the water puddles: they make your pig dreadfully clean again. Whoever also skilfully steers around the farmer and nudges him at the right moment gets the upper hand.
End of the Game
The first player to fill their photo wall with all six colour photos wins the great Drecksause!
Goal of the Game
The player who first fills their photo wall with all six colour photos wins.
