- 1 double-sided game board (beginner side / advanced side)
- 4 different double-sided blocks with playing sheets (8 variants in total)
- 1 dice
- 1 blocking token
- 4 pencils
- 4 player aids
Game Setup
Decide on a game board side. If you do not have much experience with board games, you should use the beginner side, recognizable by the gray corner fields.
Take all of you 1 playing sheet, 1 pencil and 1 player aid each. Fold the sheets along the dotted line to create a screen. Make sure that you all use different sheets! You can recognize this by the designation in the corner.
Roll the dice and place the dice on the central square of the game board so that the rolled side is on top. Align it so its edges face the edges of the square.
Who usually complains the most about the bad luck of the dice is the first to make a turn!
Game Play
-
When it's your turn, tilt the cube along one of its edges to move it to a new adjacent square. Alternatively you can use a joker (see player aid AND p. 7).
-
Afterwards you may ALL cross out exactly 1 square on your playing sheets! Say the number on the dice and the color of the field on which it is placed!
To be allowed to cross out a square on the playing sheet, it must have the same color as the field with the dice AND the number on the dice. Example: red field + 3 = "3 on red!"
This ends your turn and whoever is sitting to your left is next. Continue like this until someone announces the 3rd DREBO (see "End of the Game", p. 6).
CAUTION: You can never move the dice back to the square from which it came on the previous turn.
Optional: Place the blocking token on the square from which the cube came from.
Note also the sections "But I can't cross this field at all! / I'd rather have a joker!" (see p. 7) and "Game board effects" (see player aid).
End of the Game
Your goal is to reach 3 DREBOs first!
There are 2 types of DREBOs.
Row-DREBO: 5 crossed squares in a horizontal, vertical or diagonal row.
Color-DREBO: 5 crossed squares in the same color
Which DREBOs you play on is up to your tactical skill. When you have reached a DREBO, you must mark it at the bottom of your playing sheet and announce it loudly. It is usual to show more enthusiasm with each DREBO, to shout louder and finally even jumping up.
Example:
- DREBO
- Super DREBO
- Ultra DREBO
If you reach the 1st DREBO or the 2nd (Super-)DREBO before everyone else, you get a small bonus: Draw 1 cross in the free area next to the lightning bolt on your playing sheet. This does not take up any square, but counts in addition to your lightning joker crosses (see player aid). If others also reach the 1st or 2nd DREBO in the same turn, no one receives this reward.
The player who announces his own 3rd DREBO with "Ultra- DREBO!!!" wins the game. In case of a tie, consider your lightning jokers (see player aid).
But I can't cross this field at all! / But I would rather have a joker!
If there are several crossable squares on your playing sheet, you may freely choose which of them you cross. If there is no crossable square, or if you do not want to cross a possible square, you may instead cross 1 joker field in the upper area of your playing sheet.
Once crossed, a joker allows you to use its special ability later in the game.
Use a Joker
However, you can only use each joker 1 time. If you use an ability, make a circle around your cross to indicate that you have already used it and cannot use it again.
