3 dragon heads, 3 dragon tails, 10 dragon body fragments, 3 fire discs, 2 fire breaths.
Goal of the Game
The goal of the game is to increase the strength of your young dragon by attacking the Great Monster in the centre. The player whose dragon is the longest at the end of the game wins!
Setup
Place the Great Monster in the centre of the table, as shown in Figure 1. To keep the game going longer, use all 10 dragon body fragments; for a shorter game, make the body shorter.
Each player sets up a dragon head and dragon tail in one line with the Great Monster, at equal distances from it. The better you play, the farther the dragons can be placed. For a start, we recommend 30–40 cm from the centre.
Each player takes one fire breath and one fire disc. The third fire disc is a spare.
How to Play
On your turn, aim your fire breath and your disc at the elements of the Great Monster's body.
Place the fire breath anywhere between your dragon's head and tail, pointing it in any direction. The disc is placed into the fire breath and fired by sharply pressing the edge of the disc with your index finger (see Figure 2). You may not move parts of your own dragon to make room for the fire breath; it must be placed where there are no body fragments.
The part of the body that your disc knocks over is yours. You can knock over and win several fragments at once. Set them between your dragon's head and tail.
You can also shoot at an opponent's dragon to win parts of its body.
Penalty! If you knock over the head or tail of any dragon, you do not get any body fragments knocked over in that shot, and you must return one part of your own dragon to the Great Monster. The knocked-over parts go back to their original positions.
If you play in teams, the members of each team fire in turn.
Winner
The game ends when the Great Monster has lost all of its body fragments. The player whose dragon is longer wins. In case of a tie, additional shots are fired until one of the players wins.
Figures
- Figure 1 shows the setup: the Great Monster in the centre, with each player's dragon head and tail set out in a line on either side at equal distance.
- Figure 2 shows how the disc is fired: pressing the edge of the disc with the index finger on the fire breath.
