Instructions for Playing

For 2 Players, Ages 8 to Adult.

To Start

  1. Decide who plays the home team. Visitor bats first. The pitcher takes the pitcher die and 1 dice cup. The batter takes the 9 batter dice and a dice cup.

  2. Batter — Set your batting order. You have 9 players.

The single red die is a .666 superstar hitter. The 5 orange dice are .500 hitters. The 3 blue dice are .166 hitters.

Line up your players on the bench.

  3. Batter — Mark down your batting order on a piece of paper; i.e.: O-O-O-R-O-B-O-B-B (O, R, B = colors of dice). You will have to refer to this list to set up for each inning.

Note: the setup colours above (orange = .500, blue = .166) do not match the colours printed on the Hitter Die face tables below (Blue = .500, Yellow = .166). Both are transcribed as printed; the face tables are the same dice the setup describes, so the colour names in one of the two places are inconsistent in the source.

The Play

The pitcher rolls his die.

When a good pitch is rolled the batter takes his lead batter and rolls it. If a ball is rolled, place a peg on the scoreboard and roll the die again.

Results

Single — Place the batter die on 1st base. Advance all runners already on base forward 1 base.

Double — Place the batter die on 2nd base, advancing all other runners on the diamond 2 bases.

Triple — Place the batter die around to 3rd, advancing all runners around to score.

Out — Batter die is placed back on the bench.

Double Play — Batter die is placed back on the bench. If any runners are on base, the lead runner (closest to home) is also retired to the bench.

Triple Play — As double play, but the two closest runners to home, if any, are retired. If only 1 runner is on base, he is returned to the bench with the batter and the roll is scored as a double play.

Foul Play — Counts as a strike unless 2 strikes have already been made.

Strike — 3 strikes and you're out.

Home Run — Batter puts any runners on base all score.

The Winner

Play continues through 9 innings. High score wins. Play extra innings in case of a tie.
