How to Play

Each turn, everyone follows these steps at the same time:

Step 1

Everyone simultaneously chooses a card from their hand and puts it face down in front of them. When everyone has chosen a card, turn them all face up.

Step 2

If your card matches someone else's, put it into your steamer.

Your steamer is a stack of cards face-up on the table near you. It starts empty, but over the course of the game it can have any number of cards in it.

Step 3

Once all matching cards are in their steamers, look at the remaining cards. Whichever card has the lowest number gets cooked. That player takes their broccoli card and any cards in their steamer from previous turns, and cooks them all!

Cooked broccoli cards score points at the end of the game.

Create a face-down stack of cooked broccoli cards so you don't get them mixed up with cards in your hand or your steamer.

Step 4

If there are any other revealed cards after matches have moved to steamers and the lowest number has been cooked, those broccoli cards have all been botched! If you botched your broccoli, take that card and any cards in your steamer from previous turns, and put them all back into your hand! You'll have to try cooking those again.

Game End

Continue simultaneously taking turns until:

  • One player has cooked at least 7 broccoli cards

OR

  • Any player has no cards in their hand at the end of a turn

When this happens, the game is over.

Add the numbers on your cooked broccoli cards to find your score. Cards in your hand or steamer do not give you points.

Whoever has the highest score wins!
