The Game

Forget classic blind tests: no need to know the artists or the song titles. Here, you have to find the answer linked to the theme in question.

For example, on the theme "Creatures":

  • Who will be first to shout "DRAGON!" when the Game of Thrones theme song starts?
  • Who will find what "carries me to the end of the night"?
  • Who will be first to match the right creature to the opening notes of Michael Jackson's "Thriller"?

So, which team will win the (musical) victory?

Setup

Place 5 Set cards face up in the center of the table, along with the 7 Scoring cards.

The last player to have gone to a concert takes out their phone and becomes the first DJ.

They announce out loud which theme they prefer among the 5 Set cards. This theme then defines the type of answers players will need to give during that theme.

For example:

  • For the theme "Animals," the answers must be animals.
  • For the theme "Cities," the answers must be cities.
  • And so on...

Teams

Form teams of 2 to 4 people. If there are only 3 of you, form teams of one person each.

The DJ scans the QR code on the card they chose to start the first round. As soon as the music starts, players can call out answers. If a player tries too many answers, the DJ can ban them from answering for 5 seconds. But be careful — it could come back to bite you!

The first player to give the correct answer wins the Scoring card matching the song's number and becomes the DJ for the next song. They will therefore not be able to answer for the next song.

If, by the end of the clip, no player has given the correct answer, then no one wins the point and the DJ chooses who becomes the next DJ.

How to Win

Each Set contains 7 songs. The team that wins the most points on the Set wins it and keeps that theme's Set card in front of them. The first team to win 2 Sets wins the game.

In case of a tie at the end of a Set, the team that won the highest-numbered Scoring card wins the round. The losing team chooses whichever theme they like from the remaining Set cards on the table, and a new round begins.
