- 1 board
- 112 snake tiles (including 8 multicoloured jokers)
- 4 screens
- 4 score markers
Setup
Place the snake tiles face down in the lid of the box (or in a nice bag sewn by your clever little hands). Each player draws five tiles and places them behind his screen. The oldest player begins.
Playing the Game
Play proceeds clockwise.
On your turn, choose a snake that you will extend. Most often this will be the longest unfinished snake. You may place as many tiles of the appropriate colour as you like on the chosen snake.
The starting squares of new snakes are spread around the edge and in the centre of the board. No tile may be placed on the 4 snake baskets.
Multicoloured tiles, the jokers, may be added to any snake.
When a player has finished placing his tiles, he refills his hand behind his screen so that he again has 5 tiles.
Instead of placing tiles, a player may return all of his tiles face down to the supply and draw five new ones.
Tunnels
A snake may only be extended by placing tiles of the correct colour, or jokers. The "tunnels" coloured beige on the tiles may not be placed to extend a snake. However, tunnels already placed on the board may be used as part of a snake's length, and so score points. This is even a good move!
Points
When a snake is extended, every part of the snake scores one point: the newly placed tiles, those that were already on the board, the tunnels passed through, and the ends of the snake.
Bonus
If a snake comprises at least five sections and a player completes it by leading it into a basket, or by placing a snake head, he scores 3 bonus points.
Note: placing a snake head must be the only tile placement of the player's turn.
No other snake may finish on a snake head, nor on a starting square (snake tail).
Multicoloured Tiles: Jokers
Jokers may be used to extend any snake. Before a player begins his turn, he may exchange any joker on the board for a tile of the correct colour from his hand.
End of the Game
When all snakes are complete, or when no tile can be placed any more, the game ends and the player with the highest score wins the game.
