Further Leads
The Further Leads box on the introduction page gives the four starting leads:
- Examine the medical examiner's report in dissecting room – #101 – The Lab
- Examine the crime scene – #102 – Campus
- Contact the FBI about the nature of Higgs' work – #103 – Headquarters
- Talk to local police about their initial investigation into the case – #104 – Police Station
The case contains 24 numbered lead cards, #101 to #124. Each card is set at one of five locations and carries a time cost. Where the card prints one, the time cost is:
- The Lab: #101 (1 hour), #116 (2 hours).
- Campus: #102 (1 hour), #107 (1 hour), #108 (1 hour), #111 (2 hours), #113 (2 hours), #124 (1 hour). #119 has no time cost printed on the card.
- Headquarters: #103 (1 hour), #106 (1 hour), #109 (1 hour), #114 (2 hours), #115 (1 hour).
- Police Station: #104 (2 hours), #118 (2 hours), #120 (2 hours), #122 (2 hours), #123 (2 hours).
- Fieldwork: #105 (2 hours), #110 (2 hours), #112 (3 hours), #117 (2 hours), #121 (2 hours).
Most lead cards print, at their foot, links to further lead numbers with locations, and some cards also link to entries in the case's file or other-document sections (printed as FILES@ or OTHER@ references). Some lead links carry a spend cost of 1 or 2 tokens, shown as a token icon with the number beside it; the case rules for Skill tokens apply, so spent tokens are crossed out.
Three lead cards, #111, #113 and #117, print an instruction on their reverse to add 1 Authority token to the Token pool.
The narrative text, character dialogue and file entries are story content and are not reproduced here. Consult the printed booklet for the full text of each card.
