Hero Cards

Thief

Hero character card. Printed badge: a purple octagon with figures and the number 6.

Scout: When ending her turn, the Thief may draw 1 extra Hero Card for each adjacent location with 3 enemy troops or a General. However, if the card drawn matches the color of the location she is in, she is discovered and takes 1 wound for each matching card drawn.

Steal Battle Plans: When ending a turn on a location with a General, the Thief may draw 2 Darkness Spreads Cards on her first draw rather than 1 and play her choice, returning the other to the top of the deck or discarding it.

Daggers & Theft: When fighting on a location with a Treasure Chest Icon, re-roll any failed dice. If 2 or more minions are defeated in a single round of combat, also draw 1 Hero Card.

Note: May be used when attacking Generals.

Feline

Hero character card. Printed badge: a purple octagon with figures and the number 5.

Shadow: Once per turn, if on a location with another Hero (either starting there or passing through) moving by Foot or Horse, the Feline may move with them and stop at any point on their path. Additionally, if on a space with a General that moves, the Feline can move with the General. This does not count as an action.

Catlike Quickness: If Feline attacks and defeats 2 or more minions in a single combat action, she gains back 1 Action Token to be used immediately.

Note: Feline has a maximum of 7 actions per turn.

Claws: When Feline rolls a natural 1 in combat she may re-roll each natural 1 one time. If the second roll is a 1, she may not re-roll again.

Shaman

Hero character card. Printed badge: a purple octagon with figures and the number 5, and a white box labelled FORM (the form marker).

Arrows of Destruction: When in Human Form, the Shaman may spend 1 action and roll a die to eliminate all minions on any location of the board. Remove all minions and check die roll - if the Shaman rolled an odd number he also Tainted the land - place a Tainted Crystal on the combat location.

Beast Form: Once per turn the Shaman may take the form of a Wolf or Bear or return to Human Form. This transformation may take place at any point during the Shaman's turn.

Changing shape is a Free Action - Mark the Form.

Wolf: May move as if on Horse without discarding a movement card. Additionally, if ending turn on a Green Location the Wolf suffers no wounds to enemy minions.

Note: He is still subject to Fear.

Bear: Heal 1 wound when entering Bear form. In combat may reroll all dice once during each attack.

Note: The Shaman may not enter Monarch City or Inns while in Animal Form.

Seeker

Hero character card. Printed badge: a purple octagon with figures and the number 6.

Precognition: At the start of the Seeker's turn, reveal the top Darkness Spreads Card. This is her knowledge of the future - this card will be the first Darkness Spreads Card drawn in her Night Phase.

Deadly Blade: May discard any Special (Purple) Card in combat and treat as if it is a Battle Luck Card (Re-roll all Failed Dice). Additionally, all combat dice generated from Special Cards are wild for the Seeker; she may use them against any General.

Confound Enemy: The Seeker may spend 1 action while at a location with enemy minions and move 1 or more of those minions to any adjacent location(s).

Note: May not use on a location with a General.

Card Notes

  • The small octagonal badges on each card (a figure icon with a number, in purple, and on the Shaman a white FORM box) are transcribed by their printed number and label only. The card text does not explain them, and this transcription does not assign them a rule.
  • Not included in this file: the six Global Effects cards of this expansion, the card back, and any token or counter rules. These were not available in the source.
