To Do List
It's time to settle down!
- Take care of the houseplants
- Decorate the shelf
- Count the stars
- Don't forget to daydream
Components
- 5 foldable boards, to unwind
- 5 erasable markers, for noting, checking off, coloring
- 5 cloths, to wipe away worries
- 2 dice, to let yourself be carried away
- 1 rulebook, so you forget nothing
Object of the Game
Draw as many items as possible on the shelf to score points and win the game.
To do this, fill your cloud grids simultaneously using the numbers shown by the dice, while trying to make sure that each cloud line (horizontal or vertical) contains only different numbers. Draw items for each line completed correctly.
Before You Play
- A calm and comfortable place
- A hot drink
- A little music (see the back of the box)
- Solo, or with company
There is also a rules video: scan the QR code on the board / rulebook, or find it on Disto studio's channels.
Setup
- Each player takes a board, a marker, and a cloth, and the 2 dice are placed in the center of the table.
- Fold or unfold your board to choose which combination you want to play (see "Menu"). All players must play with the same combination.
Menu
In Daydream, each combination of the board forms a new grid with its own specific rules.
Easy — To get started
- A: Calm Morning
- D: Coffee Break

- B+C: Under the Stars
- E+F: Evening Melody
- A+D: Winter Memories
- D+A: Summer Memories
Hard — Get yourself a strong coffee
- A+B+C: Evening Melody
- D+E+F: Colorful Dream
Starting Numbers
Before you start playing, one random player rolls the 2 dice. Then everyone, at the same time, writes both numbers rolled into 2 cloud cells, anywhere on their grid. These are your starting numbers.
Tip: Preferably choose 2 cells that are far apart from each other.
How a Turn Works
A game is played over several turns. Players play simultaneously.
-
One player rolls the 2 dice.
-
Everyone, at the same time, writes both numbers rolled into 2 empty cloud cells ADJACENT to cells that are already filled, while trying not to write the same number more than once within the same cloud line.
A cloud line can be horizontal or vertical, and always ends with these two icons: a dot and a sun.
-
Once every player has finished writing their dice, the next turn begins under the same rules.
The 2 dice may be written in whichever order you like. The second die may be written into a cell adjacent to the one used for the first die.
Leaves
Each turn, you have the option of giving up ONE of the 2 dice. If you do, circle a leaf at the bottom of the board instead. You then write only ONE die onto your grid. Once circled, leaves let you modify the value of a die.
You may give up a die even if all the leaves are already circled. (At the start of the game, one or more leaves are already circled.)
Before writing a die, you may color in a CIRCLED leaf to modify that die's value by +1 or -1 (for yourself only). A colored-in leaf can no longer be used.
You may color in several leaves to stack their modifiers on a single die (the resulting number can range from 0 to 9).
Drawing Items
You have just filled ALL the cells of a cloud line! Now it's time to draw items on the shelf at the top of your board. Go through the step below before continuing your turn.
The numbers repeat
If at least one number appears more than once in this line, cross out the icons at the end of the line. You gain nothing. (Oops...)
The numbers are all different
If every number appears only once in this line, circle the dot. (Nicely done!)
The numbers are consecutive
If all the numbers are CONSECUTIVE in increasing or decreasing order (examples: 2-3-4-5 / 4-3-2-1), the line is perfect! Circle the sun instead of the dot. (Perfect!)
The circled icon tells you how to draw the items. Draw the items from left to right, starting with the topmost item. First count the number of cloud cells in the completed line, then draw that many strokes following the rules below.
- If you circled the dot, draw as many strokes as there were cloud cells. Each stroke must connect 2 dots. Example: Elise filled a line of 3 with different but non-consecutive numbers. She circles the dot and can draw 3 strokes on an item, dot to dot.
- If you circled the sun, draw as many strokes as there were cloud cells. Each stroke must connect 2 suns. Example: Tomy filled a line of 3 and all the numbers are consecutive. He circles the sun and can draw 3 strokes on an item, sun to sun.
Bonus: If you complete an item with this symbol (a sun/leaf bonus icon), circle just one of the 2 bonuses, your choice.
- Sun bonus: draw one additional stroke up to the next sun.
- OR
- Leaf bonus: immediately circle a leaf.
Remarks
- When drawing an item: if your last stroke ended on a dot, your next sun-type stroke must connect that dot and the next sun.
- You must finish one item before moving on to the next.
- If you complete several cloud lines at the same time, resolve them in whichever order you like.
- When writing your dice, you may give up the first die to circle a leaf, and immediately color in that leaf to modify the second die.
End of Game
The game ends as soon as one player has filled ALL the cloud cells of their grid, or has drawn ALL the items.
Write down your number of items COMPLETELY DRAWN at the bottom of the board. Whoever has the most items wins. Unfinished items score no points.
In case of a tie: whoever drew the most strokes on their last unfinished item wins.
If you are playing a combination other than A or D, the score takes into account the items plus the special features of the chosen combination (see "Combinations" on the back).
Solo Mode
In solo play, the rules are identical except for one point:
When you give up one of the 2 dice: circle a leaf AND draw a thorn on the plant. At the end of the game: 2 thorns = minus 1 item.
Compare your score in the "Combinations" section (see back).

Solo score table: 0-13 Blank Page · 14-32 Every Shade · 33-54 Firing on All Cylinders · 55+ Masterpiece.
Constellation
Some cells are marked with stars. When you write a die into one of these cells, draw that many strokes on the constellation as the number written in the cell.
Start at the lowest point and work upward, following the dotted lines. Circle each star you reach on the constellation.
At the end of the game, add the number of stars circled to your score.
Musical Notes
Musical notes are found in the gaps of the grid.
Single notes: Color in the note-head if the 2 cloud cells adjacent to this note contain the same number.
Double notes: Color in one head if 2 cells adjacent to the double note contain the same number. Color in both heads if ALL the cells adjacent to the double note contain the same number.
At the end of the game, add the number of colored-in note-heads to your score.
Polaroids
There are 6 polaroids above the grid. Each polaroid is linked to a cell marked with stars or a moon.
When you write a die into one of these cells, write the same number into the polaroid in the same column.
At the end of the game, the polaroid score changes depending on the combination (AD or DA).
AD: Add up the numbers of the 3 star polaroids on one side, then subtract the sum of the numbers of the 3 moon polaroids on the other side. The result serves as a bonus or malus.
DA: Circle each polaroid containing a different number. If several polaroids share the same number, circle only one of them. Add the number of circled polaroids to your score. If all 6 polaroid numbers are CONSECUTIVE in increasing or decreasing order, the polaroids count double.
Moon Garland
Some cells are marked with a moon. When you write a die into one of these cells, write the same number into the first empty moon of the garland, starting from the top.
If the number is identical to the number written in the previous moon, connect these two moons and circle the reward next to them.
At the end of the game, add the sum of the circled rewards on the garland to your score.
Frames
On the wall, there are 3 families of frames that mark off zones.
The first player to fill ALL the cells of one family of frames circles the "5" reward for that family at the bottom of the board. The other players cross it out; it is no longer available.
Likewise, the second player to fill a family of frames circles the "2" reward. The other players cross it out.
An incomplete family of frames, or one with no rewards left, scores nothing. If several players finish the same family during the same turn, they all circle the highest available reward.
At the end of the game, add the sum of the circled frame rewards to your score.
Solo mode: In solo play, when you start drawing the clover on the shelf, cross out ALL unclaimed "5" rewards. When you start drawing the bow tie on the shelf, cross out ALL unclaimed "2" rewards.
