150 cards:

  • 75 cards for the red team
  • 75 cards for the blue team

Each team set contains:

  • Team cards (68 per team)
  • Action cards (4 per team)
  • Yellow cards (3 per team)

Aim of the Game

Two teams compete against each other in a fast-paced, turbulent match. Search through your cards as quickly as possible and try to place a matching card in the centre of the table until a goal is scored. The first team to score 3 goals wins.

Before Kick-Off

First, divide into two teams. With 2 or 4 players, each team has the same number of players. With 3 players, 1 person competes against the other two.

Each team receives all the cards of one back colour – red or blue. Each set contains 3 yellow cards. Remove 2 of them so that only 1 yellow card remains in each set. Shuffle your cards well and deal as follows:

1 player per team: Take your team's entire set. Place 4 cards face-up in front of you. Leave space next to them for a discard pile. Hold the remaining cards in your hand as a face-down pile.

2 players per team: Divide your team's cards equally between you. Each player places 2 cards face-up in front of them. Leave space to the right for the discard piles. Players hold the remaining cards in their hand as a face-down pile.

Note: If you turn over action cards, yellow cards or a card showing the number 4 (in the centre of the card 4 MILO/NOAH) during setup, shuffle them back into your deck and draw a new card.

Kick-Off!

To start play, place a card with the player number 4 in the centre of the table.

On a signal, everyone searches their hand deck for a card with the number 4 as quickly as possible – in accordance with the rules below.

Rules for Playing Cards

  • Always turn over 2 cards from your hand deck and place them face-up on your discard pile.
  • You may play a card from your face-up display or the top card of your discard pile.
  • If you play a card from your face-up display, place the top card from your discard pile into your display.
  • Once you have played all the cards in your hand, take all the cards from your face-up display and discard pile. Shuffle them briefly and take them into your hand as a new deck of cards. Refill your display to 2 (or 4) cards and continue playing.

As soon as someone places a 4 in the centre, each team searches for a matching card as quickly as possible to place on top. There is always only one stack in the centre.

The colour of the top card indicates which team has possession – attacking or defending.

Example: 4 NOAH on top – the blue team has the ball: blue is attacking, red is defending. 4 MILO on top – the red team has the ball: red is attacking, blue is defending.

Attacking Team

The attacking team searches as quickly as possible for a card showing the team member depicted on the corner of the card in the centre (shirt with name and number). The card played must match the name and number exactly.

Once a matching card is played, the ball passes to the next football player. Continue playing in this way until a card with a goal symbol is placed in the centre.

Example: Attacking team scores a goal. Milo (4) has the ball. He passes it to Lina (7). The blue team looks for a card with Lina in the centre. The blue team plays Lina (7). Lina now has the ball and passes it to Nico (10). The blue team plays Nico (10), then looks for Paul (11). The blue team plays Paul (11) and scores a goal.

Defending Team

If an opponent's card is in the centre, your team is defending. Quickly look for a card showing the symbol in the corner of the centre card (football, trophy, boot, corner flag, whistle, gloves). Once you have found a matching card, place it on the card in the centre. You now take possession – your team becomes the attacking team. The other team switches to defending.

Example: The defending team takes the ball from the attacking team. Milo (4) has the ball. The blue team looks for Lina, the red team for a card with a whistle. The red team is faster and plays the whistle card. Noah (4) now has the ball. The red team looks for Ben, the blue team for a card with a whistle. The red team is faster and Ben now has the ball. The blue team then plays the corner flag card, regains the ball, and is now the attacking team again.

Goal!

When a team plays a matching goal card, the round ends. Take the goal card from the pile and place it next to the team that scored the goal. Sort the remaining centre cards by their back colour. Each team collects all their cards (including face-up ones) and redeals as described above » Before Kick-Off.

The team that did not score a goal in the previous round adds an extra yellow card (of their team colour) to their deck.

The first team to score 3 goals wins the game.

Note: In the very rare event that no one can place a card in the middle before a goal is scored, the game ends in a draw and you start a new round.

Action Cards

Counterplay: You may place this card on top of the centre pile when revealed or from your face-up display, regardless of the top card. Both teams then race to play a card showing one of the listed player numbers. The first team to play a matching card takes possession and attacks.

Goal Kick: You may place this card on top of the centre card when revealed or from your face-up display, regardless of the top card. Both teams then race to play a card showing one of the listed symbols. The first team to play a matching card takes possession and attacks.

Note: You can place an action card on top of another action card. The new card cancels the previous action.

Yellow Card: When you reveal a yellow card, place it directly in front of an opponent. This person must immediately stop searching their cards. They must gather up all their face-up cards and shuffle them into their hand deck. They then place two new face-up cards and continue playing.

After a goal has been scored, return used yellow cards to your deck.
