Components

• 1 Darwin Worker
• 1 Darwin Crew Card
• 1 Darwin Special Action Tile

Setup

1. Shuffle the Darwin Crew card along with the base game Crew cards before dealing them to players.
2. Shuffle the Darwin Special Action tile into the base game Special Action tiles before placing them on the board.
3. If the Darwin Special Action tile is revealed on the board, place the Darwin Worker on the right side of the tile. Otherwise, keep the Darwin Worker to the side of the main board.

Gameplay

This expansion's Crew card and Special Action tile both have the same action icon (a purple Darwin Worker figure in a gold laurel wreath). Perform this action whenever the Special Action tile is activated or when the associated Crew card is achieved.

Darwin Worker action

The active player takes the Darwin Worker, either from the supply or the Special Action tile, and places it next to their personal board.

The Darwin Worker can be claimed only once per round; therefore, if the Darwin Worker is in front of another player or has already been placed as a worker in the current round, the Darwin Worker action has no effect.

The player who takes the Darwin Worker may place it instead of one of their own workers on a subsequent turn. The Darwin Worker acts as if it had 6 Special Wax Seals (purple), which means it may be placed on any unlocked location on the board, activating the silver and golden distinctions.

During the Cleanup Phase, return the Darwin Worker to the supply or to the Darwin Special Action tile (if present on the main board).
