Object

To be the first player to move from the dungeon to the door.

Before Play

Remove the two Playing Hints cards from the deck of cards. Decide who will deal. The dealer shuffles the remaining 52 cards, deals four to each player, then places the rest of the cards in a pile facedown in one section of the card tray to form the draw pile.

Each player chooses a playing piece and places it on Start. Player to the left of the dealer begins, and play moves to the left.

Play

Each player at his turn draws one card from the draw pile and adds it to his hand. He may then advance his playing piece one space by discarding, next to the draw pile, one card which matches the symbol, color, or number on the next trail space on the game sheet, as explained below. A player may advance his playing piece only one space at each turn. If he holds no card which matches a symbol, color, or number on the next space, he must still discard one card, but may not move.

The lists below indicate which cards must be discarded to move to the spaces on the game sheet:

SpacesCards
BatBat
SpiderSpider
ScorpionScorpion
SnakeSnake
2Any 2 card
1Any 1 card
RedAny red card
BlackAny black card
CreatureCreature
Monster or CreatureMonster or Creature

In addition, Creature and Monster cards contain colors and symbols; they may be used for moving to matching color or symbol spaces.

Players may move along any path they wish, but must continue along it once they have started. They may not move backward and start another path.

Two playing pieces may occupy the same space at one time.

When the draw pile is empty, the discard pile is shuffled and placed facedown in the tray to form a new draw pile.

Winning

The Winner is the first player to reach Finish by playing a spider card.
