Build

With so many colorful LEGO® bricks to choose from, what will you create? A building, a vehicle, something from nature, or something else? Show off your skills and score points through building and guessing.

The game includes a brick box, a LEGO Dice, and three card piles: Basic cards, Advanced cards, and Expert cards.

Aim of the game

Be the first to score five points by building creations and guessing other players' creations.

Setting up the game

Build the LEGO® Dice using the tiles shown in the instructions.

Sort the bricks into separate colors in the brick box. Sort the cards into Basic, Advanced and Expert piles and shuffle each pile separately.

Place the brick box, card piles and LEGO Dice in the middle of the play area.

LEGO tool. The set includes a tool to help you take tiles off the LEGO Dice.

Play

Playing the game

The youngest player goes first. Play then continues clockwise.

On your turn roll the LEGO® Dice and carry out the action you rolled.

Build a creation. Take a card from the top of one card pile and look at it without letting the other players see. You may choose a Basic, Advanced or Expert card.

The dice faces show the four building categories: Nature, Vehicles, Buildings, and Things.

Find the picture on the card that matches the category you rolled, then start building it using any bricks from the brick box.

All the other players must now try to guess what you are building.

  • If a player guesses correctly, stop building and reveal your card. Place your card face-down in front of you and keep it in your score pile. The player who guessed correctly also takes a card from the same pile and keeps it face-down. Each card a player collects is worth one point.
  • If nobody guesses correctly, nobody scores any points. Reveal your card so that the other players can see what you were building, and then place your card face-down underneath the pile you took it from.

Choose category. BEFORE you take a card, choose one of the four categories to build during this turn. Tell the other players the category, then take a card and play as normal.

Double points. BEFORE you take a card, the player on your left must choose one of the four categories for you to build during this turn. That player must tell you and the other players the category, then you take a card and play as normal. If the creation is guessed correctly, it is worth DOUBLE points. Place your card and an extra one taken from the same pile (face-down card) in your score pile. The player who guessed correctly also takes two cards from the pile and keeps them face-down.

Winning the game

The first player to score five points wins the game.

Change

Your Game – Your Rules

LEGO® Games are made to be changed. You can rebuild the game or the LEGO Dice, change the pieces or even the rules! Every little change makes it more and more YOUR GAME.

The secret to changing a game is to only change one thing at a time. If you like the change keep it, if not try another. Get started by trying these suggestions, but remember to make sure everyone knows all the rules before you start playing.

Big Scores

Keep score by counting the number of question marks on the back of the cards in your score pile. Basic creations are worth one point, Advanced creations two points, and Expert creations three points. Now the first player to score TEN points wins the game.

Everyone Against the Clock

At the start of the game choose a time limit, for example 15 minutes. Everyone plays together as a single team trying to get as many correct guesses within that time limit. Take turns rolling the LEGO Dice and building creations as normal. If anyone guesses a creation correctly, keep the card face-down in the middle of the play area and let the next player roll the LEGO Dice and take a turn. If nobody guesses correctly, quickly reveal the card and continue. Remember how many correct guesses you get and then try and beat the record next time you play!

Build Anything!

Before the game find a pen and paper. Now when you roll 'Choose category', choose one of the four categories but do not take a card. Think of something in that category that you would like to build, and then write it down and hide what you have written. Tell the other players the category and then play as normal.
