Setting up the game

Each player has six cars, numbered 1 to 6. The board has numbered starting positions for each car, and one junkyard space for each player. A player's junkyard is the one farthest from his starting position. Cars are put on the starting hex in front of the slot which matches their number, facing the other player's starting positions. (Numbered slots are used in the German variation.)

The play

Players alternate turns, until the game ends. Players should play 2 games, where each player goes first once, and the winner is the player with the highest combined score from both games. A turn consists of two parts, a control move followed by an automatic move. The player to go first on the first turn (and only on his first turn) does not do the automatic part of his turn.

  1. Control: Roll three dice. The number on each die represents one of your cars that you may move or turn. You may re-roll once, any die that matches a car anywhere off the board. After the re-roll, any dice of cars off the board are not used this turn. If a car is rolled more than once, it may be moved and/or turned in any order as many times as it was rolled.

  2. Automatic: Each of your cars, in numerical order, must now move one space forward.

Turning cars

When you turn a car, you may point it to face ANY of the neighboring adjacent spaces, or face it off the board if you desire.

Moving cars

Cars always move forward, and nothing ever stops them. If another car or a line of cars are in the way, all cars are pushed one space in the direction of the moving car. Cars which are pushed are not turned, they are just moved one space maintaining their original orientation. If any cars move or are pushed off the edge of the board, they are removed from the board, are out of the game and score no points. If any cars move or are pushed into a junkyard, they are removed from the board and count one point towards the score of the player who owns the junkyard.

Ending the game

At the END of any turn, if either player has no more cars, then the round is over, and the players score the number of cars entering their junkyards. Note that it may sometimes be advantageous for a player to end a game by intentionally running his last car off the outside edge of the board.

Variation (German version)

As above, the first player only does a Control move on his first turn, but after that the players reverse the turn order by starting with the automatic move followed by the control move. Cars start in the numbered slots. Some players, including Robert Abbott (BGG designerid=221) who suggested doing the automatic move first, consider this variation far superior to the designer's original rules.
