Aim of the game

Each player is competing with others to be the fastest builder. In each turn players gather resources and once in a while spend them to construct a building. A fierce race takes place as the winner will be the first player to construct a certain number of buildings.

Game setup

Separate the cards by their types. Shuffle all building cards and place them face-up into three piles with 7 cards in each. Take advanced resource cards – crane, workforce, building materials with value 3 and paperwork with value 3 – and put them face-up into separate piles, easily reachable for all players. Shuffle together basic resource cards (building materials and paperwork with value 1) and place them in a pile face-down – this will be the draw pile. Deal each player 4 cards and then take another four cards from the draw pile and place them face-up next to it – this will be the draw pool. Randomly determine the starting player and the game continues clockwise.

Playing the game

The game is played in clockwise order with each player taking his turn. The next player will start their turn only when the previous has finished theirs. The game ends when one player is the first to have constructed a certain number of buildings.

Player's turn

In his turn a player can have any or all of the following actions:

  1. Draw cards – a player must draw any two cards from the draw pool and add them to his hand. Then he re-fills the draw pool with two cards from the draw pile.
  2. Exchange – a player may exchange any two of his cards for one advanced resource card. He puts those two cards in the discard pile and adds the advanced resource card of his choice to his hand.
  3. Construct – a player may construct no more than one building. The player may choose any of the three buildings that are visible on top of the building piles and construct it. To do so, the player has to put the required resources in the discard pile and put the constructed building in front of him. If the player is overpaying (for example, paying with 3 building materials card when building requires less), the surplus amount is not refunded – it is wasted. Important! Although at the start of the game basic resource cards and advanced resource cards are separated, when they are discarded, they are all put in the same discard pile!

When a player has finished his turn, it is the next players turn, which starts with action 1. If at any time the draw pile becomes exhausted, players shuffle the discard pile and form a new draw pile. That means that after the first re-shuffle advanced resource cards may also start to appear in the draw pool. Advanced resource cards may be taken from the draw pool the same way as basic resource cards (and they can be exchanged for other advanced resource cards in action 2), this means that players may have easier access to resources needed for constructing buildings faster!

Game End

The game ends when a player manages to construct the number of buildings required for winning, which depends on the number of players in the game:

  • 2 players = 10 buildings
  • 3 players = 7 buildings
  • 4 players = 5 buildings

The first player to construct the required number of buildings during his turn immediately becomes the winner!
