How to Play

A Brief Introduction

Each card contains an answer, made up of two different parts, that share a word which connects them together.

Players will take turns being the clue giver each round. The clue giver must come up with clues for both parts of the answer and tell the group. The group will guess the answer.

The first player to guess correctly wins the round!

Instruction graphic

  1. Give a clue for the top part (example card: ROMAN EMPIRE)
  2. Give a clue for the bottom part (example card: EMPIRE STATE BUILDING)
  3. Guess the answer in the middle (example card: ROMAN EMPIRE STATE BUILDING)

Giving clues

The clue giver must come up with a clue that describes both parts separately. The clue given is completely up to the clue giver, however, the clue cannot contain any of the words in the answer.

Possible clue: "Julius Caesar was the ruler of this land" and "a famous landmark on the New York City skyline."

Hints will be given if no one can guess the answer.

Example

  • Come up with a clue for the first part (HAT TRICK): "When a player scores three goals in a game"
  • Come up with a clue for the second part (TRICK OR TREAT): "…and what to say on Halloween to get candy"
  • Answer: HAT TRICK OR TREAT

Ways to Play

Timed

Once the clue is given, all guessers will have the same amount of time to write down one guess on a piece of paper.

Teams

Take turns having one team member give clues to the rest of the team. Teams will guess as many correct answers as possible within the time limit.

Forehead Guesser

Players will take turns as the guesser by placing a card on their forehead. Shout out clues to the guesser until they come up with the answer.
