Coloretto: The Extra Cards Rulebook

Setup

This expansion requires the original Coloretto game. To use the expansion cards, cut them out along the thin grey line. The base game rules apply except where the variants below change them.

Variant 1: Brown Extra Cards

Setup: The 8 brown extra cards are shuffled and placed face down next to the main deck.

Play: Play follows the normal rules, but before each game one of the extra cards is revealed. The special rule printed on that card applies to the current game. After 4 games, the player with the most points wins.

Note: Only the last revealed card applies in each game. Previously revealed cards are not taken into account.

Card Descriptions

"Eine karte zählt am schluss 3 punkte."

(One card counts 3 points at the end.)

At the end of the game, every color set consisting of 1 card is worth 3 points (plus or minus).

Note: In the normal game, one card gives 1 point.

"Drei karten zählen am schluss 2 punkte."

(Three cards count 2 points at the end.)

At the end of the game, every color set of 3 cards is worth 2 points each (plus or minus).

Note: In the normal game, 3 cards give 6 points.

"Wer als 1. aussteigt muss eine karte vom staple nehmen."

(Whoever takes a row first must take a card from the draw pile.)

The first player in each round who takes a card row from the table must take one card from the main deck and place it in front of himself. This card is counted as if it had been taken normally during play.

"Alle minuspunkte zählen am schluss dreifach."

(All minus points count triple at the end.)

At the end of the game, all negative points are multiplied by 3.

"Zählt nicht als joker sondern am schluss -2 punkte."

(Does not count as a joker, but scores -2 points at the end.)

At the end of the game, jokers do not act as jokers. Instead, their owners receive 2 penalty points each (-2 points).

"Müssen bei erhalt an den rechten spieler abgegeben werden."

(Must be handed to the player on the right when received.)

If a player takes a card row containing one or more jokers, he must give all of them to the player on his right.

"Müssen bei erhalt an den linken spieler abgegeben werden."

(Must be handed to the player on the left when received.)

If a player takes a card row containing one or more "+2" cards, he must give all of them to the player sitting on his left.

"Nur zwei farben zählen am schluss pluspunkte."

(Only two colors count plus points at the end.)

At the end of the game, only 2 colors (instead of 3 in the normal game) score positive points. All other colors score negative points.

Variant 2: Two Green Row Cards

Setup: Two new row cards (with room for 2 and 4 cards) replace two of the standard brown row cards.

Example: For a 3-player game, use only one standard brown row card and the two green row cards from the expansion.

Play: Play follows the normal rules, with these changes:

Only 2 cards may be placed next to the green row card that shows 2 cards.
Similarly, 4 cards may be placed next to the green row card that shows 4 cards.
The standard brown row card is unchanged: 3 cards.
