Game Variant 1: Paint the World Your Way (for 4+ years)
Setup
- Choose a coloring sheet design to play. We recommend the House or Hot-Air Balloons, but any design will work. Give each player a coloring sheet with the chosen design.
- Place the colored pencils in the center of the table.
- Place one number die and both color dice nearby.
- Return the remaining game materials to the box.
How to Play
The person to last paint or color something is the first player. Players will take turns in a clockwise direction.
On your turn, roll all three dice.
Choose one of the colors rolled and use that color pencil to fill in a white space matching the number rolled.
Example: You may color red or green on any white 3 space on your sheet.
Important Color It! Rules
- The star is wild and counts as any color you choose.
- If both dice show the same color, you may only use that color.
- If there is no white space with the number you rolled, you cannot color anything this turn.
Return the colored pencil to the center of the table and pass the dice to the next player for their turn.
End of the Game
As soon as a player has colored in all the spaces on their sheet, the game is over and they win. Congratulations! Play the game again with another picture from Kaleido.
Game Variant 2: Everything You Paint is Colorful (for 5+ years)
Setup
- Choose a coloring sheet design to play. We recommend the Rainbow or Flowers, but any design will work. Give each player a coloring sheet with the chosen design.
- Place all four dice nearby.
- Each player selects a different color pencil and colors any single space on their sheet.
- Then place all the colored pencils to the center of the table.
- Return the remaining game materials to the box.
How to Play
The person with the most colorful clothes goes first and rolls all four dice. All players use the dice roll.
Each player chooses a number and color from the dice and colors in one of the spaces on their sheet with that number.
Several players may choose the same number and color. Take turns sharing the colored pencils with everyone as needed.
Important Rule: Each flower or row in the rainbow can only be one color and no two flowers or rainbow rows can be the same color.
Example: You can color one of the following with this roll:
- In the lowest row, color the 3 space yellow.
- In one of the middle rows color any 2 or 3 space blue.
Note: In the outer row, you can only use red so you cannot color anything there with these dice.
Important Color It! Rules
- The star is wild and counts as any color you choose.
- If both dice show the same color, you may only use that color.
- If there is no white space with the number you rolled, you cannot color anything this turn.
Return all the colored pencils to the center of the table once everyone is done coloring in their chosen space. Then, it's the next player's turn to roll the dice for everyone to choose from.
End of the Game
As soon as a player has colored in all the spaces on their sheet, the game is over and they win. Congratulations! Once again, Kaleido is a wonderfully colorful world.
If more than one player finishes their sheet in the same round, they all share the win.
