Components

  • 1 violet tile (starting game tile);
  • 7 blue game tiles (McWorld);
  • 7 green game tiles (Jihad);
  • 17 grey game tiles (neutral);
  • 1 game board;
  • 4 rulebooks (English, German, French and Polish).

Should any of these components be missing, please contact your Retailer or the Publisher.

Preparations

  • Players sit to face each other. Place the game board so that the short sides face the players. One player takes the seven blue tiles and the other player the green. Players line these up before them, they are open information. The place where these tiles lie is the respective "players areas".
  • Take out the violet "Mustafa" tile from the box and place it nearby. Shuffle the remaining 17 grey tiles and lay 5 of them face up beside the board. This is called the "neutral area". The remaining neutral tiles are not used in this game and are thus kept away from the playing area. (Exception: effect of the "Elections" tile)
  • Decide starting player in any suitable fashion.

Next, the starting player chooses, like the second player before, any one of the tiles from his or the neutral area and places it on any unoccupied space on the board. Play goes like this, players alternating turns, up to the end of the game.

Game Sequence

First, the starting player places the "Mustafa" tile on any space on the board.

  • A tile facing you means it's on your side (your follower). A tile that's upside down from you is an opponent.
  • When placing a tile, you must place it vertically, along the edges of the field.

Next, it's the second player's turn. He chooses one of the tiles from his or the neutral area, and places it on an unoccupied space of the board (Exception: Nobel Prize tile).

The placed tile may cause certain effects. Please refer to "Tile list" below for explanation of the effects. When the effect has been resolved, turn goes to the starting player again.

Turn order:

  • Starting player: 1. Play a tile; 2. Executing the effects.
  • Second player: 3. Play a tile; 4. Executing the effects.

Game End

The game ends up in either of these cases:

  • the board is filled with face-up tiles after a tile has been placed and its effects executed. The player with the most followers (tiles facing him) is the winner.
  • there are no tiles left in either your area or in the neutral area when you must place a tile, you loose.

Exception: if you place a tile so that the board is filled with nine face-up tiles, no Destruction effect of the last tile placed takes place (see below for effects explanations).

Exception: If the game is finished for any reason above, and there is the "KABOOOM!!!" tile on the board, the game end conditions change: game is lost by a player, who is followed by the "KABOOOM!!!" tile.

Determining the Victor

Play three games in a row. The winning player is the one who scores two victories. The board and tiles are reset between games. The neutral tiles that were selected for the previous game, are removed, and then draw five new of the remaining neutral tiles for the neutral area. The player who lost the previous game decides whether he wants to go first or last. The game starts normally, with first player placing "Mustafa" tile on the board.

Here is an example of you winning. Please note, that the effect of the last played tile (Mr President) was not executed, according to the exception mentioned above.

Optional Rules

There are other ways of play for those who wish.

Victory Condition Options

  • Point system: Decide how many games to play. After each game is finished, each follower is counted as one point. (If you lose due to "KABOOOM!!!"'s effect you get 0 points). The player with the most points after the set number of games wins. This may result in draws.

Game System Options

  • Beginners: Remove all the neutral tiles, and play with just the standard tiles and "Mustafa" tile.
  • Random: Play without a neutral area. Instead, each player draws two random neutral tiles at the start of the game.
  • Secret random: The same as random, but without open information – the neutral tiles you drew are hidden to your opponent.
  • Draft: Before the game, draw five neutral tiles at random, face up as normal. The starting player chooses one tile to take, the second player chooses one, then the starting player chooses a second tile, and lastly the second player gets both remaining tiles. Both players' neutral tiles are open information.
  • Secret draft: Before the game, the starting player secretly draws four neutral tiles, chooses one of them to keep and gives the rest to the second player, who chooses one to keep and discards the remaining two. Then the second player secretly draws four tiles, chooses one to keep and gives the rest to the starting player, who chooses one to keep and discards the remaining two. What neutral tiles you got is kept secret to the other player.
  • Long game: After taking a neutral tile from the neutral area, player draws another neutral tile among the neutral tiles, which haven't been used in the game yet and puts it into the neutral area.

Tile Effects and Icons

Effect Type

There are roughly two types of effects: immediate and permanent.

  • Tile with an immediate effect (shown with a yellow/orange tile-top icon).
  • Tile with a permanent effect (shown with a blue tile-top icon).

An immediate effect happens just after the tile is placed on the board. Players may choose not to apply the immediate effect while playing the tile, but if it is applied, it must be applied fully.

A permanent effect is active since the moment the tile is placed, and is always active, as long as the tile lies face-up on the board. Players can not choose not to apply the effect.

All effects are only activated when the tile is on the board. No tile carries any effect as long as they outside the board.

Effect Range

When activating an effect, the active player chooses one of the colored dots, and the effect is then applied on the adjacent tile in that direction.

When activating an effect, it is applied to all adjacent tiles in directions of all black or white dots (active player's choice). You may not choose to apply the effect on only some tiles. In this situation, the effect is either applied on all four orthogonally or all four diagonally adjacent tiles.

When activating an effect, it is applied to all adjacent tiles in directions of all black dots.

When activating an effect, the active player chooses one of the colored arrows, and the effect is then applied on all tiles in the direction of the arrow, not just the adjacent tile.

Turn

To turn a tile means to move it around (180 degrees) meaning is changes allegiance. You must turn an opponent tile so that it becomes your follower, or turn your follower so that it becomes follower of your opponent.

  • You cannot choose to partially apply the effect. If the turn effect should be applied to several tiles, you must turn them all.

Immunity

A tile with an Immunity effect cannot be the subject of any effect, unless another effect overwrites is (such as the effect of the "Immunity destruction" tile).

Remove

A tile that is affected is immediately removed from the board to the discard pile. You may remove a tile that follows you, or that follows your opponent.

Bribe

Moves any tile on the board to any other unoccupied space. The permanent effect of the moved tile is still in effect. Moving a immediate tile doesn't re-activate the immediate effect of this tile.

Re-enactment

Re-enacts the immediate effect of one of the indicated tiles.

Destruction

A tile that is destroyed is first flipped face down. When play again goes to the player who destroyed the tile, the tile is removed to the discard pile and the space is now considered unoccupied.

You may destroy both your followers and your enemies.

Example: First player, during his move, plays Mr-President tile on the board and destroys adjacent tile. The destroyed tile is flipped face down. During second player's move, this tile lays on the board face down, blocking the area under it. After the second player finishes his move, the destroyed tile is removed from the board to the discard pile.

A face down tile is never subject of any effects, but it's still on the board, an you may not place a tile onto it. Destroyed tile doesn't follow any player.

Exception: When a player places a tile with Destruction effect so that all 9 squares on the board are occupied by face-up tiles, no Destruction effect can take place and the game ends.

Protection

The indicated tile gains the Immunity effect (but does lose its own effect).

Negation

Negates the immediate effect of all tiles placed on the board on indicated areas.

Stabilisation

The indicated tiles gain the Immunity effect (but do not lose their own effect).

Important: In the rare case that the Stabilisation and Negation affect the same vacant space, and an immediate effect tile is placed there, the Protection has priority - immediate effect of the tile placed does happen.

Immunity Destruction

The tile allows to destroy the tile with the Immunity effect (Mosque, Tourist Zone, tile under the Protection effect). The tile is destroyed along the usual destruction procedure. However, you cannot use this tile in order do destroy tile without the Immunity effect.

KABOOOM!!!

At the end of the game, the player who keeps this tile as follower loses.

Moving the Tile into Another Game Area

The effect of the tile works on the indicated zone of the field of the game (own, opponent, board, discard pile, unused neutral tiles) transferring the tile from one game area into another game area.

Diagram key: "Neutral tiles not used in the game", "Opponent's area", "Player's area", "Tile on the board which is facing the player", "Discard pile".
