Alternative Servant Cards
The three exclusive Servant cards allow the Great Machine player to use the alternative improvements for the core game Servants. For each Servant, you may choose either a card from the Servants of the Great Machine Module or an alternative card.
Alternative Servant cards are marked with a special symbol (a mechanical head).
Special case – Judgementor's ability: During the 'No One Is Safe' City Event, if it was the only failed Raid, and Judgementor used his ability, Discontent still rises by 1 due to the City Event effect.
Phantasmer
Chief Officer · Emergency Response Service
- Level I: Each time a Hero moves to a District with Phantasmer or ends their movement there, he may force that Hero to discard 1 Trust.
- Level II: Each time a Hero moves to a District with Phantasmer or ends their movement there, he may force that Hero to give 1 Trust to the Great Machine as 1 Bond.
Judgementor
Head Executor · Punitive Service
- Level I: When Judgementor organizes a Raid, the Great Machine may pay 1 additional Bond. Discontent does not increase if this Raid fail[s]. (The final word is partly hidden by an overlapping card; read as "fails".)
- Level II: When Judgementor fails a Raid, Discontent does not increase if the Great Machine pays 1 Bond.
Lex Hecate
Senior Supervisor · L[cut off]
- Level I: In a District with a Hero, an Action for Lex Hecate costs 1 Bond instead of 2.
- Level II: In a District with a Hero, an Action for Lex Hecate costs 1 Bond instead of 2 or she may take one additional Action of different [cut off]. (The card's text is overlapped by another card from the words "different" onward; the rest of this sentence is cut off and not transcribed.)
Julie Corvus, the Smuggler
City Catacombs card
During setup, Julie forfeits 2 of her 9 Access cards (instead of 1). Then she takes the Smugglers Hideout and City Catacombs Access cards.
During the Access Phase, Julie may choose the City Catacombs card as an ordinary Access card. Next, at the beginning of her turn, she reveals the City Catacombs card and takes any one of her forfeited Access cards which is now considered chosen for this round. In the Closing phase, Julie removes both the chosen forfeited Access card and the City Catacombs card from the game.
The City Catacombs card is optional. It may be also used in the Solo & Cooperative Mode (no special rules).
Enkidu, the Determinist
Machinery Theory card
Enkidu takes up to 2 Bonds from the Great Machine as 2 Trust. If the Great Machine has only 1 Bond, Enkidu takes that 1 Bond as Trust. In case the Great Machine has no Bonds, Enkidu cannot use the Machinery Theory.
Solo & Cooperative Mode: Move the Progress marker back 2 Stages (clockwise) and receive 2 Trust. If the Progress marker it at the Riot Stage, move it back 1 Stage and Enkidu receives 1 Trust. If the Progress marker is at the Zero Stage, Enkidu cannot use the Machinery Theory. (The printed card reads "If the Progress marker it at the Riot Stage"; "it" is most likely a misprint for "is", transcribed here as printed.)
The Machinery Theory card is optional. If you decide to add it, shuffle it into the Theory deck during setup.
Machinery Theory (card face)
Time: During the Heroes Phase. Take up to 2 Bonds from the Great Machine as Trust.
Solo & Cooperative Mode: Move the Progress marker back by up to 2 Stages and receive that much Trust.
Chronoleon: Interdiction
During setup, add 2 Interdiction Surge tokens to the other Chronoleon's Surge tokens.
Interdiction. May be activated at the end of the Opening Phase.
Point to any District. The target Hero may not choose an Access card to that District during the Access Phase of this round.
Solo & Cooperative Mode: Interdiction Surge token is activated immediately and remains in effect.
The target Hero randomly chooses 2 of their Access cards (except for the one chosen for the current round) and places them aside. They [cut off] choose either of these cards during th[e …] Phase as long as they have the Inte[rdiction …] (the right-hand ends of these lines are covered by the Interdiction Surge tokens; the bracketed words are cut off and not transcribed.)
Note that Akira, the Inventor, [cut off] the Access card to the District [cut off] Interdiction token while using [cut off] invention, and Julie, the Smuggler, [cut off] choose the Access card to that District with her City Catacombs Access card. (Several words of this note are covered by the Interdiction Surge tokens and are cut off.)
Deviateech
Akira's Invention card. The photographed Invention card face shows art and title only; the text below is the Deviateech card.
Access Phase: Choose 2 Access cards instead of 1.
Heroes Phase: Reveal both cards and choose 1. If there is a Raid in 1 of the Districts, forfeit that Access card. If there are Raids in both Districts, choose 1 card to forfeit.
City Catacombs
Access card (card back text)
Use any one of your forfeited Access cards as if you chose it for this round. In the Closing Phase, remove it and the City Catacombs from the game.
