Contents
- 3 sets of 6 dice (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple)
- 3 boxes of crayons
- 3 copies of NNN game sheets
You will need 3 dice cups, which are not included.
Note: the printed sheet reads "NNN game sheets" as printed; the number of game sheets is not stated.
Goal
Be the first player to score at least 10 points.
Setup
- Each player takes a set of 6 dice, one of each color, and puts them in their dice cup.
- Each player takes one copy of the same game sheet.
- Each player takes a box of crayons.
Gameplay
Each round consists of the following four steps, which all players take simultaneously.
1. Roll
Roll the dice in your cup. In the first round, you will roll 6 dice, but in future rounds, you might roll fewer dice.
2. Color
Use your dice to color in sections of your game sheet. For each symbol in a section, return a die showing that symbol to your dice cup to color that section. (Do not color in all sections with that combination of symbols.) Use only one symbol per die. You may color as many sections as your dice allow (e.g. one section requiring 4 symbols and another requiring 2 symbols).
Example (as shown on the sheet): For example, return the blue, purple, and orange die (each showing a yellow star) to your dice cup to color the face with three stars on The Scream game sheet.
3. Trade
You may trade unused dice (1 for 1) with other players. Dice received in trade go directly into your dice cup.
Although each symbol appears on each die, some symbols appear on only 1 face while others appear on 3 faces.
4. Score
Completed Figures: The score chart on each game sheet separates the puzzle into figures. When you complete a figure, score the number of points indicated. Score a bonus point if no one completed this figure in an earlier round.
Completed Colors: When you complete the last red section in your game sheet, score a point. This applies to each color in your game sheet.
Example (The Scream game sheet): For example, if you and another player both complete the sky in The Scream game sheet in the same round, and no other player has completed the sky in a prior round, you each score 5 points (including a bonus point).
Game/Round End
Once everyone has scored any figures or colors they completed this round, if any player has a total of 10 or more points, the game is over.
The player with the most points wins. In case of a tie, the player with the most uncolored sections remaining wins.
If no one has 10 or more points, start a new round following the same four steps. Do not put dice that have not been used for coloring or trading into dice cups when starting a new round. They will remain with the same face showing until they are used or traded. In this way, you can store dice for future turns.
In the unusual event that any player cannot use or trade any of their dice, all other players play one final round and then end the game as above.
