Players and Age

  • Suitable for ages 7 and up.
  • For 3 to 8 players.

Objective

Make the judge like your dish and collect stars.

Blind Taste Game

Blind Taste (閉眼嘗試玩法)

  1. Place the stars in the metal tin. Shuffle the Ingredient cards and the Order cards, and place each deck face down in separate piles.
  2. Choose one player to be the judge. The judge deals each chef 6 Ingredient cards.
  3. The judge chooses one Order card, turns it face up, and reads it aloud to everyone (for example: "the most awful sandwich").
  4. The chefs imagine what the judge will like, and choose 3 Ingredient cards from their own hand to prepare a dish. They keep their cards hidden from the judge.
  5. The judge closes their eyes. The chefs place their dishes face down in front of the judge, so the judge does not know whose card is whose.
  6. The judge opens their eyes and reveals one dish at a time (3 Ingredient cards each), and comments on each. After commenting on all the dishes, the judge chooses the dish that best fits the order for first place and the dish for second place. The first-place dish earns 2 stars; the second-place dish earns 1 star.
  7. Play passes clockwise, and a new player becomes the judge. Play continues until every player has been the judge once. The player with the most stars wins.

Hell's Kitchen Game

Hell's Kitchen (地獄廚房玩法)

Steps 1 to 3 are the same as in the Blind Taste game.

  1. The chefs imagine what the judge will like, choose 3 Ingredient cards from their own hand to prepare a dish, and think of a name for the dish.
  2. A chef presents the dish to the judge (turning the 3 Ingredient cards face up), and explains the process of creating it, why the ingredients were chosen, and the name of the dish, trying to persuade the judge.
  3. After the chef's explanation, the judge comments on the dish, stating what they like and dislike about it. The judge then chooses the dish that best fits the order for first place and the dish for second place. The first-place dish earns 2 stars; the second-place dish earns 1 star.
  4. Play passes clockwise, and a new player becomes the judge. Play continues until every player has been the judge once. The player with the most stars wins.
