Components

400 cards with 2,400 questions and answers, game board, 6 pawns, 36 double-sided tokens, a die, rules.

Goal of the Game

In this game you try to answer questions from 6 different categories. You move your pawn around the game board, and the space on which you end your movement determines the category of the question you will answer. If you end your movement on the space named Film, you will answer a question from that category. If you answer correctly, you receive a token belonging to that question category. The goal of the game is to collect six tokens in six different colours. Once you have collected the tokens and answered the final question, which your fellow players choose for you, you become the winner of the game.

Question Cards

The questions are divided into six categories: film, creators, quotes, children and youth, television and miscellaneous. These categories are clearly distinguished by colour. Each category has its corresponding coloured tokens, and the categories are likewise marked on the game board (Fig. 1).

Each card contains one question from each of the six categories. The correct answer to each question is on the back of the card. Each answer has 3 variants (a, b, c), but only the variant printed in bold is correct.

Agree beforehand whether you will use these answer options during play. You can give the other player a choice of 3 variants, or you can require them to give the correct answer outright.

Before the game starts, agree on how precise the answers to questions must be during play, e.g. whether, for a question asking for a person's name, a surname is sufficient or the full name is required, and whether you allow some tolerance for questions about years, etc.

Setup

Shuffle the cards thoroughly and place them question-side up next to the game board. Each player chooses one pawn and places it on one of the corner spaces of the game board (Fig. 2). More than one pawn may stand on a single space. The player who rolls the highest number on the die begins. The other players continue in clockwise order.

Gameplay

On your turn, roll the die and move your pawn on the game board by the corresponding number of spaces. The space on which your pawn ends its movement determines the category from which the question will be asked. If your pawn ends on one of the corner spaces, you may choose the category you will answer. The player to your left then takes a card from the bottom of the deck and reads the corresponding question.

If you answer incorrectly, your turn ends and play passes to the player on your left.

If you answer correctly, you receive a token in the colour of the corresponding category and place it in front of you. Your turn ends and play continues with the player on your left.

If you answer correctly a question from a category whose token you already have, you do not receive another token; instead you gain a new turn. Roll the die again and move your pawn. The player to your left then draws the next question card and reads the question from the category on which your pawn ended its next movement. In this way the player on turn may continue for as long as they answer correctly and keep earning a token they do not yet have.

At the end of the turn, the question card that was used is removed from play and set aside next to the game board on the discard pile.

Path to Victory

Once a player has received a token from each of the six categories, they may head for one of the corner spaces of their choice. On the way, they answer questions as normal and can use the chance to take an extra turn for a correct answer. A player may stop on a corner space even if they roll a higher number and would otherwise pass it. From their next turn onward, the player no longer rolls the die and instead moves one space at a time towards the centre of the game board, toward the first spaces with questions. The player can now advance further only by answering correctly a question from the category on which their pawn stands.

If the player answers correctly, they move their pawn one space towards the centre of the board and their turn ends. Only in the next turn will they answer the next question.

If the player answers incorrectly, their turn ends. The pawn remains in place and play passes to the player on the left. On their next turn, the player will again answer a question from the same category.

Winner

If a player answers correctly the questions on both spaces between the corner space and the centre of the game board, they move their pawn onto the map outline (Fig. 3). On the next turn this player answers the final question, which their fellow players select for them from a new card.

If the player on turn answers incorrectly, their pawn remains on the central image, and on their next turn they will again answer the question selected by their fellow players.

If the player answers the final question correctly, they become the winner of the game.
