What Is This?

This is a simple game where all you have to do is throw and catch your Catchable.

But you're going to have a bunch of cards in front of you that makes this very simple task very (very) difficult.

When it's your turn, throw your Catchable in the air and catch it while doing the actions on ALL of the Action Cards in front of you in a single throw. You win the game when you can throw and catch your Catchable with 5 Action Cards.

Your Catchable

Every Catchable comes with 12 Action Cards. (The icons on the corners tell you which cards go with each Catchable).

These cards force players to do things while trying to throw and catch their Catchable. Some of the Action Cards are easy, and some are very difficult.

Each Catchable comes with a unique set of Action Cards:

  • Common Cards are found with a bunch of different Catchables.
  • Rare Cards are only found with a few Catchables.
  • Exclusive Cards are only found with 1 Catchable!

Setup

  1. Make sure each player has a Catchable and the matching 12 Action Cards.

  2. Look at your Action Cards and pick 4 to keep as your starting hand. You can always look at your Action Cards, but keep them secret.

It's a good idea to pick a mix of easy cards (to try yourself) and hard cards (to force others to try).

  3. All players will put all of their 8 remaining Action Cards face down in a pile in the middle of the table, and then shuffle them all together to make a single Draw Pile.

  4. Leave some room for a Discard Pile.

  5. Next, each player picks 1 of the 4 Action Cards in their hand and puts it face up in front of them.

Whenever you put Action Cards in front of you, pick your easiest cards!

  6. Pick a player to go first and then proceed clockwise around the table.

Your Turn

When it's your turn, you have to do 2 things:

1. Catch

In a single throw, you must throw and catch your Catchable while doing everything on ALL of the Action Cards face up in front of you. You have 3 tries.

We're not talking about the cards in your hand! We're talking about the face up cards in front of you.

  • Success (on any of your 3 tries): You get to put 2 Action Cards from your hand face up in front of any 2 players (including yourself). These actions will be added to those players' next catch. You can't put both Action Cards in front of the same player.
  • Fail (after 3 tries): The Action Cards in front of you were probably too hard. You must discard 1 or more of them face up into the Discard Pile to make your next turn a little easier (but you're also a little farther away from winning the game).

2. Draw

If you don't have at least 3 Action Cards in your hand, draw more from the Draw Pile until you have a hand of 3 Action Cards.

Now your turn is over. Proceed clockwise to the next player.

Winning

If you complete a catch with 5 (or more) Action Cards face up in front of you, you win!

Answers to Your Questions

Catching

Do I have to be sitting to play? No! Stand up, run around, and do whatever it takes to complete your catch!

When do I have to perform the actions? Unless otherwise stated on the Action Card, all actions have to start after your throw and be completed before your catch.

Can my Catchable touch other things (floor, walls, tables, etc.)? NO! (Unless stated on your Action Cards.)

Can I intentionally hit my Catchable back up into the air before catching it? Nope.

What if I have more than 5 Action Cards in front of me? You must throw and catch your Catchable while performing the actions on ALL OF THEM.

Enforcing the Rules

What counts as cheating? Just follow these rules and the rules on the Action Cards in front of you. Don't make this harder than it needs to be! If your Action Cards don't have restrictions on the number of hands you can use, use two hands! If there are no restrictions on the height of your throw, just barely throw your Catchable!

The only thing you MUST do is follow the rules on all the Action Cards in front of you.

What if we're arguing about a Catch? You all have to decide as a group whether or not a catch has been completed successfully. But keep in mind that the people you judge will be the same people judging your next catch!

Action Cards

Does the order of my Action Cards matter? No. Do the actions in any order you'd like, just make sure you do them all.

What if I have 2 of the same Action Cards in front of me? You have to do that thing twice! (Or three times, or four times, etc.) This applies to any cards with the same name, regardless of which Catchable deck it came from.

If I fail my Catch, can I discard more than 1 of the Action Cards in front of me? Yes, you can discard as many of them as you'd like. Keep in mind that the more you discard, the farther away you are from winning the game!

What if the Action Cards in front of me are impossible? Discard as many Action Cards as you'd like to fix the problem. Ex: if you have the Action Cards "Catch your Catchable without your hands" and "Catch your Catchable with 1 hand," you can discard 1 or both of those cards before you start your turn. This is the only time you can discard cards before you start your turn.

If an Action Card increases or decreases the number of Action Cards I need in front of me to win, and I already have that number of Action Cards, do I win immediately? No, you still must successfully complete a catch on your next turn.

Can I put an Action Card in front of a player who already has 5 or more Action Cards? Yes, and on their next catch, they must try the actions on all of the Action Cards in front of them.

How long do I need to perform each Action Card for? All Action Cards only need to be performed for a quick moment unless otherwise stated on the Action Card.

Can I use any Action Card in my hand even if it doesn't have a picture of my Catchable on it? Yes!

The Catchables

The box contains 4 Catchables and 48 cards. The Catchables shown in the rulebook are:

  • Catcus
  • Eggs N' Bakey Cat
  • Caterina
  • Cat-tle
  • Rainbow Ralphing Cat
  • Catastrophe
  • Self Care Cat
  • Donut Cat
  • Lumber Cat
  • Cat Wearing A Cat
  • Black Hole Cat
  • DJ Cat

Collect Them All!

Want to battle your collection of Catchables against your friends? Here's how:

Collect as many Action Cards as you can, then decide on the 12 best Action Cards from your entire collection (any rarity, any Catchable, any number of duplicates). Then use those cards as your own 12 Action Cards when you start the game. You get to decide which 4 to keep as your starting hand, and the rest get shuffled into the Draw Pile.
