Card Rules

Superstition (Aberglaube)

Card Text: Each player loses, for each Cloister, each Library and each University, any one resource of his choice.

Piratenfeldzug (Pirate Campaign)

Card Text: Whoever has the greatest Knight's strength receives any 2 resources.

Colonial Outpost (Kolonialstützpunkt)

Card Text: Placement: Place it above or below a Gold Region. Each time the number of that Gold Region is rolled, the Colonial Outpost also receives 1 Gold. Requires: Explorer Fleet.

Treasure Fleet (Schatzflotte) (1x)

Card Text: Each time a Successful Year is rolled, you receive any 2 resources. Requires: Explorer Fleet.

Explorer Fleet (Entdeckerflotte)

Card Text: Pay 1 Wool and roll the die. On a 4, 5 or 6 you receive 2 Gold. On a 1 the fleet sinks (back into your hand). The Explorer Fleet is not attacked by a privateer fleet (Kaperflotte).

Christoph, the Great Explorer (Christoph, der große Entdecker)

Card Text: Turn one of your Gold Regions to show 3 Gold. Requires: Explorer Fleet.

Pirates! (Piraten!) (2x)

Card Text: All of your opponent's Gold Regions and any Colonial Outpost of your opponent are turned to "0".

Anton the Banker (Anton, der Bankier) (2x)

Card Text: For 2 Gold you immediately receive any 2 resources. Requires: Trading Office.

Deck Construction

The info card in the set gives the deck rule for these cards:

• As with all cards from the base game and the theme sets, a deck may use at most the cards from one pack.
• "Anton the Banker" and "Pirates!" may each be used twice in a deck. All the other cards may be used once.
• The cards may be used in all tournaments, including the 2001/2002 tournament, both in online games and at tournament events.
• The cards may also be used in the expanded base game, in which case the cards are distributed at random among the stacks.

Translation Notes

• The card faces were read from a low-resolution scan. The word on the Explorer Fleet face that is rendered here as "privateer fleet" (Kaperflotte) was read from the scan and is the least certain reading in this translation.
• The Treasure Fleet face shows a gold token and the number 2 at its left edge. The printed text does not explain either symbol, so they are not transcribed or interpreted here.
• The card titles are rendered in English with the German printed title in brackets. The German titles are the printed titles on the card faces.
• The info card's back pages (tournament venues and online play, with website and telephone references) are not reproduced. They are logistics for the tournament, not rules.
• The BGG title and edition listing is Dutch. This transcription is from the German-language card set.
