Shadowlithe Fist

Ability card (front). Printed title: "Shadowlithe Fist", on a parchment banner at the top. The card art shows a large purple shadow fist reaching out of a dark, broken crypt. The card's type banner at the bottom reads "ABILITY".

Ability

The ability is printed as a shot sequence of three icons, read left to right:

  1. Rush shot (three right-pointing chevrons, ">>>", in black)
  2. Then connector (the small ">" between icons)
  3. Melee shot (a red fist, in the centre)
  4. Then connector (the small ">" between icons)
  5. Rush shot (three right-pointing chevrons, ">>>", in black)

Performed in order: a rush shot, then a melee shot, then a rush shot.

Notes on the icons

  • Shot sequence. The chevrons and fist are shot icons, and the small ">" between them is the "Then" connector. The base rulebook defines a "Then" connector as the icon placed between shots that are performed in a row, in that order.
  • Rush shot. The base rulebook names the rush shot as one of the three basic character shots and gives it no damage. The black chevron icon is read as the rush shot. This is a judgment call: the base rulebook does not print a chevron glyph, and the chevrons are matched to rush by the base rules' description of the rush shot as a movement-only shot.
  • Melee shot. The base rulebook names the melee shot as a character shot that inflicts one point of damage by default. The red fist icon is read as the melee shot.
  • Hero. The card face does not name a hero. The base rulebook's example of a "thief performs a melee shot and then a rush shot" matches this sequence, and the promo is catalogued for the Thief hero (Elani the Thief in the base rulebook). The hero attribution is from the catalogue, not from the card face.
  • Card type. The card is an Ability card. Ability card rules, including the once-per-Battle-Phase use and refreshing in the Setup Phase of the next room, are in the base rulebook under "Playing Spell, Ability, or Item Cards" and are not repeated here.

Scan note: the card scan is 360x544, the largest copy found on BGG. The icons are legible at that size. Only the icons are transcribed; no other text appears on the card face.
