Presentation
Cartaventura Odyssey is a cooperative game. All players play together the same adventure. Discuss and make your decisions together.
The goal of the game is to reach the end of the chapter. You will progress gradually through the story. Once the 3 chapters are completed, you can replay to find the hidden endings of each of the chapters. 10 Knowledge cards (cartes Savoir) are also hidden in the game. Your job is to find them!
How to Play
To play, you simply follow the instructions on the cards. Do ONLY what is indicated on the cards.
During the adventure you will choose several Action cards that will advance the story.
When you choose an Action card, follow its instructions, then the instructions on the cards you turn over or draw. When you have no more instructions to follow, it is time to choose a new Action card.
The 4 Types of Cards
Immediate card (lightning bolt): Read it in full immediately and follow the instructions.
Object card (hand): Read it, then place it to the right of your character card.
Plan card (map):
- Place it on the table.
- Draw the cards indicated by the compass rose at the bottom right.
- Place these cards around the Plan card, at the locations indicated: left, right, above or below.
Action card (cog): These are the actions you can carry out to advance the story. Choose one of the visible actions (anywhere, even around an "old" Plan card) and follow the instructions indicated, in order. Once you have finished reading them, choose a new Action card.
