Components

  • 104 Location cards (cities, national parks, attractions, events)
  • 5 Bonus cards
  • Overview card

Goal of the Game

Score the most points by creating the best 16-card card trip. Alternate your locations and take plenty of time to rest at the campsite. Be especially careful not to give your opponents any good locations. The player with the most points wins the game.

Game Setup

  1. Shuffle the location cards and deal each player 8 location cards face down (campsite side up).
  2. Set aside the remaining location cards as a face-down pile; you'll need them later.
  3. Then place the bonus cards and the overview card in the center of the table.

Location Cards

All location cards are unique. On the front, you'll find a number (A), a location type (B), and the energy cost (C) indicated in stars. Use the back of the location card as a campsite (D) for resting. And at the bottom, you'll find the name of the location (E).

Game Play

A round consists of 2 steps: 1) Play cards and 2) Pass cards.

Step 1: Playing Cards

Play 2 location cards from your hand, campsite facing up, in front of you. Once everyone has done this, turn the cards over and add them to your card trip. You decide the order in which you place the cards, as long as you follow the placement rules (see Placement Rules). All players do this simultaneously.

Step 2: Passing Cards

Now pass your remaining cards to the player on your left. Repeat these 2 steps until all players have no more cards to pass. Deal 8 new location cards to each player again and repeat the 2 steps until all these cards have been played. Your card trip will then consist of 16 cards.

Placement Rules

You build your card trip from left to right. Each new card is placed to the right of the last card played. During the game, you create sequences of location cards, each ending with a campsite card. This sequence is called a week. Each campsite marks the end of a week.

TIP: to save space, you can create 2 rows of 8 cards. The last card of the top row and the first card of the bottom row will then simply count as connected.

When placing a card, you must meet the following conditions:

  1. The number on your location card must be higher than that of the last location card in the same week.
  2. The type of your location card must be different from the last location card in the same week. Therefore, 2 campsites cannot be adjacent to each other.
  3. Your location card cannot exceed the energy total of 7 per week (see Energy).

If you cannot or do not want to place a location card, place your location card with the campsite side facing up. This completes your week and allows you to start a new week with renewed energy.

Energy

Each player has 7 energy to spend per week. Placing a location costs energy (indicated on the location card with stars). Before playing a card, check if you have enough energy left to play it.

If you exceed the 7 energy limit by placing a card in that week, you may not play that card. Instead, you can place it as a campsite card to rest and start a new week. You do not need to use all your energy to place a campsite card.

Examples

  • Correct placement: The campsite indicates a new week. So you don't need to look at the number, type, or energy of the previous location card(s).
  • Incorrect placement (Energy): Placing this card brings the energy total to 8, so this card cannot be used here.
  • Incorrect placement (Number): This card has a lower number than the previous card and therefore cannot be played.
  • Linda wants to play location cards #38 and #40. #38 can't be next to #22 (same type), but #40 can. Therefore, she plays #40 first. Because #38 is lower, it can't follow and is used as a campsite.
  • A set of 4 cards forms a week.

End of the Game

The game ends when all players have 16 cards in their card trip. It's time to count the points. Add up all the points in your card trip. The player with the most points wins. If there's a tie, the player with the most campsites wins. Still a tie? Then the players share the win.

Scoring

Scores per Week

You receive points for a varied week: you receive points for a set of multiple locations in one week:

  • 5 points for a set of 3 different types.
  • 8 points for a set of 4 different types.

Points per Location Type

Cities: You score 4 points for each attraction adjacent to this city. 1 City can score 4 points twice if it has an attraction on both sides.

National parks: The more parks you have in your card trip, the higher your score:

  • 1 park = 1 point
  • 2 parks = 3 points
  • 3 parks = 6 points
  • 4 parks = 10 points
  • 5 or more parks = 15 points

More than 5 parks do not earn extra points.

Attractions: Each attraction card in your card trip is worth as many points as the number of campsites in your own card trip. If you have 2 campsites and 3 attractions, each attraction is worth 2 points. So you get 6 points.

Events: An event card scores points equal to the energy cost of that event. The event shown in the example is therefore worth 2 points.

Bonus Cards

There are 5 bonus cards that earn extra points depending on the type of location card. Each bonus card is double-sided: one side with positive points and one side with negative points. If you're playing for the first time, use the positive side. In later games, you can flip the cards or mix positive and negative points.

Positive Points Side: For the positive side, 6 points are awarded to the player with the most cards of the requested location type. In case of a tie, all tied players receive 3 points.

Negative Points Side: For the negative side, 4 points are deducted from the player with the fewest cards of the requested location type. In case of a tie, all tied players receive 2 negative points.

Final Score Example

This card trip will score 51 points.

Points per week:

  • Week 1: 5 points
  • Week 2: 5 points
  • Week 3: 0 points
  • Week 4: 8 points

Points per location type:

  • Events: 4 events score 6 points (2+1+2+1)
  • National parks: four in total, so 10 points
  • Cities: 2 cities with one adjacent attraction = 8 points (2x4)
  • Attractions: 3 attractions and 3 campsites, so 9 points (3x3)
