Object of the Game
To be the first person to start a game piece at the campfire and move it around the board, following the white footprints and finishing back at the campfire.
Start the Game
All players choose a game piece and place it on a seat by the campfire.
Each player must choose which level they would like to play for the duration of the game. Level 1 is the easiest (suggested for beginners) and level 4 is the hardest. Players indicate their choices by placing the appropriate level card (the card showing the level number) in front of them.
The youngest player is first to roll the die. Players take turns clockwise.
Playing the Game
The youngest person rolls the die and moves his or her game piece by the number of spaces that appear on the die.
- If the player lands on a set of white footprints, then the die passes to the left, and the next player takes his or her turn.
- If the player lands on a set of green footprints, that player attempts to answer one of the CAMP card questions. Players should read the questions that correspond with their chosen levels (the level icons on the cards). If the correct answer is given, the player rolls again. If an incorrect answer is given, the turn moves to the player to the left.
- If a player lands on a Camp Clubhouse symbol, that player goes immediately to the Camp Clubhouse and reads a Fun Fact for all to hear; that completes the turn.
Some CAMP question cards show a picture of a compass. If a player answers one of these questions correctly, that player is awarded the special compass card (see Figure A). Only one player may possess the compass card at a time.
The owner of the compass card may take the shortcut to CAMP. If a player has the compass card and another player answers the next CAMP question with a compass symbol on it, the compass card then changes hands. If the player is already on the shortcut and another player takes the card, the first player may continue on the shortcut.
Once a player arrives back at CAMP, he or she is declared the winner and the game is completed. Other players may choose to continue until everyone reaches CAMP.

Note: the printed sheet shows a "CAMP decoder" card in an illustration, with the instruction "Use the handy CAMP decoder to see the correct answer!" The decoder is a component of the game; the sheet does not describe it further.
