Components and Punch Board

First, carefully punch out all tiles from the punch board. The gold coins with the value 20 make it easier to exchange coins during the game. The rules for playing with the volcano tiles are described below.

Please do not throw away the punch board afterwards! The edges can be folded up as shown on the picture to use it as an inlay for the box. This way all components stay in place even when storing the box upright or during transport.

Volcanoes

All rules of the base game apply, with the following changes:

Set-Up

First replace the 3 gold mines with the 3 volcano tiles. Put the gold mines back in the box.

For the two-player game only, sort out 1 volcano instead of 1 gold mine with value 1 and put it back in the box.

The volcano tiles each show a volcano with four edge values: two edges marked "-1" and two edges marked "2". The value on the edge adjacent to the worker determines the gold effect in the Action below.

Action

For each of your activated workers, depending on the value indicated on the adjacent edge of the tile, you must take 2 gold from the bank or pay 1 gold to the bank. If you have no gold coins at that moment, you do not have to pay.
