1 castle (bottom part of game box), 4 walls, 20 knights, 27 little treasure tiles, 4 tower stacking tiles, 2 dice, set of game instructions
Before Starting to Play
First assemble the castle with its nine chambers: connect the walls (with the pinnacles pointing up) and insert them into the castle.
Preparations
Place the treasure tiles face down and shuffle them. Then place three tiles in each chamber and turn the top tile face up. Each player chooses a tower stacking tile and decides which chamber he wants to try to loot. He places his tower-stacking tile right on this spot, just outside the castle wall. You are also allowed to stand and move around the castle. Get the knights and the dice ready.
How to Play
Whoever can say "On your shoulders, ready, steady, go!" the quickest may start and rolls both dice.
What Do the Dice Show?
- One or two shields? Good work young knight! For each shield you can take a knight of the corresponding color and pile it on your tower-stacking tile next to the castle wall.
- Have you already piled a knight of the colors on the dice? A tower has to show all the colors of the knights! Pass all the knights of repeated colors on to the next player in a clockwise direction. This player can now stack them or must pass them on again if the colors repeat in his tower.
- No players are able to use the colors appearing on the dice? In this case you can take the corresponding number (one or two) of knights from the provision and stack them on your tower. Make sure no color repeats in your tower.
- One or two jesters? If you have rolled one jester symbol, you have been fooled. You can only use the color of the other die. If you have rolled two jester symbols, it's you who has played a trick on the cheeky joker and you can stack a knight of your choice.
Then it's the turn of the next player to roll the dice.
On Your Marks, Flick the Knight!
As soon as a player has stacked five knights he may flick a knight into the castle. You have to stay calm and be very careful! Gently flick the knight on the top so that he lands inside a castle chamber. Take the (face up) treasure tile from the chamber where the knight lands, and keep it face down in front of you.
Now return your five knights to the provisions and turn over the next treasure tile inside the chamber you just looted. You can also move your tower-stacking tile to another spot and stack your knights at this new position when it's your turn again.
Important Knights' Rules
- As soon as a knight stands on the tower stacking tile, you can't change the place of the tile again.
- A tower has to consist of five knights, all of different colors.
- If a tower accidentally falls over, just stack it up again.
- If a flicked knight does not land inside the castle or if he lands in an empty chamber, he is put back in the provisions. The remaining four knights stay piled up or are stacked again, if necessary.
Hint: Beginners may flick twice if the first flick doesn't work.
End of the Game
The game ends as soon as a player has collected five treasure tiles. Count the number of treasures on your tiles. The player with the most treasures wins the game as best climbing knight.
