Components
- 2 notebooks. Each notebook has 50 double-sided sheets. Each sheet has 6 fields — you grow 6 kinds of flowers on them: yellow, blue, red, green, pink, and white.
- Field 1, field 2, field 3, field 4, field 5, field 6.
- On the gray part you mark the points you have scored.
- You have 4 flower layouts available on your fields, marked with the symbols circle, square, triangle, star. You use the dots on the bottom of the sheet in the solo variant.
- 6 dice
- 5 pencils
- Starting player token
Goal of the Game
Each of you grows flowers on your six fields. As the game goes on, customers appear and place orders for a certain number and color of flowers. The better you fulfill the customers' orders, the more points you score. Every order fulfilled incorrectly means negative points! The winner is the person with the most points.
Game Setup
A. Each player takes a pencil.
B. Each player takes one sheet from a notebook and places it on the table in front of them. Note! Playing for the first time, take sheets marked with the same letter (you have 4 flower layouts available on the fields: circle, square, triangle, star). In later games, everyone may take a sheet marked with any letter.
C. Place the dice in the middle of the table.
D. The person who most recently bought flowers takes the starting player token.
Course of Play
During the game you will roll the dice, choose one of them, and circle the corresponding flowers on your sheet. The dice represent customers placing orders, and circling flowers represents cutting them from your fields. Each round proceeds as follows.
Customers Appear
The person holding the starting player token rolls all the dice. They do this so that all players can see the results on the dice.
Serving a Customer
A player chooses one die and places it beside themselves (without changing the die's result!). They then fulfill the customer's order — they cut the corresponding flowers from their fields (cutting flowers is described on the next page).
Note! A player does not give the die back! It stays with them and is unavailable to the other players for the rest of the round.
After the starting player, the person sitting to their left chooses a die from those that remain. They have one fewer die to choose from (the previous player took one). After choosing a die, they cut the corresponding flowers from their fields and place the die beside themselves. The following players then do the same — they choose a die and cut the corresponding flowers from their fields.
Remember that only the first player rolls the dice. After that, players take turns choosing one die each.
The round ends when all players have chosen 1 die each and cut flowers from their fields. The starting player token is passed to the next person (clockwise). That person takes all the dice. The next round begins with them rolling the dice and choosing one.
Cutting Flowers
After choosing a die, a player circles the corresponding flowers on their sheet.
- All the flowers being cut must be adjacent to each other vertically or horizontally (not diagonally).
- The flowers being cut do not have to grow on a single field — they may be on fields that are adjacent to each other.
Example: A player chose the yellow die showing three pips (the customer wants to buy 3 yellow flowers). The player cuts 3 yellow flowers from their fields (circling them on their sheet). The flowers being cut may be on one field or on different fields (as in this example). It is important that they are adjacent to each other vertically or horizontally, and not diagonally.
GOOD / BAD
- A player may not cut flowers that were already cut in previous rounds.
- A player may not cut more flowers than the customer orders.
- A player may cut fewer flowers than the customer orders. However, this will make the customer unhappy (details on the next page).
- A player may cut flowers of a different color than the customer orders. However, this will make the customer unhappy (details on the next page).
Unhappy Customer
A customer will be unhappy if their order is not fully fulfilled:
- when a player cuts fewer flowers than ordered,
- when a player cuts flowers of a different color than ordered.
The player must mark every such discrepancy on their sheet by drawing a tally mark in the unhappy customer field. Note! Every tally mark in the unhappy customer field means 1 negative point at the end of the game!
Example 1: A customer wants to buy 5 yellow flowers. The player cut 4 flowers: 3 yellow and 1 green. They made 2 mistakes:
- they cut 1 flower of the wrong color (green instead of yellow) — so they draw a tally mark in the unhappy customer field,
- they cut 1 flower fewer than the customer ordered (4 instead of 5) — so they draw a second tally mark in the unhappy customer field.
Example 2: A customer wants to buy 5 red flowers. The player cut 3 red flowers. They made 2 mistakes:
- they cut 2 flowers fewer than the customer ordered (3 instead of 5) — so they draw two tally marks in the unhappy customer field.
White Flowers
White flowers are treated as jokers — they substitute for any color.
Example: A customer wants to buy 4 yellow flowers. The player circled 4 flowers: 3 yellow and 1 white, which is treated as the fourth yellow flower. This means the player fully fulfilled the customer's order.
White Die
The white die is treated as a joker — it substitutes for any color.
Example: A player took the white die showing 4 pips. This means the customer wants to buy 4 flowers in a color chosen by the player. The player chose pink, so they circle 4 pink flowers. The player could also circle 3 pink and 1 white flower — this would also satisfy the customer's expectations.
Sold!
- When a player cuts all the flowers of a given color, they say "Sold!"
- That player scores the highest available value in the color of the flowers cut — they color it in with a pencil on their sheet.
- The other players cross out the same value on their sheets (that value is no longer available to them).
Example: A player cut all the green flowers, so they say "Sold!" No one has cut all the green flowers before, so the player colors in the highest value in that color and scores 7 points. The other players cross out the green "7" on their sheets. The next player to cut all the green flowers will score 5 points, and the next one 3 points.
Empty Field!
- When a player cuts all the flowers on one of their fields, they say "Empty field!"
- That player scores the first available value on the empty fields track (first 3, then 4, 5, and 6) — they color it in with a pencil on their sheet. Each further value colored in will earn the player further points.
Example: A player cut all the flowers on one of their fields, so they say "Empty field!" Earlier, they had already cut all the flowers on two other fields, so on the "empty fields track" the player colors in the third value: 5. They score 5 points (having already scored 3 and 4 points earlier).
End of the Game
The game ends at the end of the round in which one of the players has:
- cut all the flowers in 3 colors (they will have colored in 3 values in the colors of the cut flowers), or
- cut all the flowers on 4 of their fields (they will have colored in 4 values on the empty fields track).
When this happens, players count their points:
- for sold flowers — they sum the values colored in with pencil for each flower color,
- for empty fields — they sum the values colored in on the empty fields track.
Then they check their points for unhappy customers:
- every tally mark in the unhappy customer field = 1 negative point,
- if a player has the most tally marks of all the players, they get an additional 3 negative points*,
- if a player has the fewest tally marks of all the players, they get 3 points*.
*In case of a tie, all tied players receive the negative or positive points.
The player with the most points wins. In case of a tie, the winner is the player with the fewest tally marks in the unhappy customer field. If there is still a tie, the players share the victory.
Example: A player counts their points for sold flowers:
- for yellow flowers they scored 5 points,
- for blue flowers they scored no points (they did not cut all the blue flowers),
- for red flowers they scored 7 points,
- for green flowers they scored no points (they did not cut all the green flowers),
- for pink flowers they scored 5 points. For sold flowers they scored 17 points in total.
The player then counts their points for empty fields: during the game they cut all the flowers from two of their fields, so they score 7 points (3+4). The player adds these points to the points scored for sold flowers and writes the total in the "total" box. They now have 24 points (17+7).
The player then must account for unhappy customers:
- they get 5 negative points for 5 tally marks,
- they have the most tally marks of all the players, so they get an additional 3 negative points (they circle "-3" on their sheet). In total they have 8 negative points. They subtract these from the points scored earlier (24-8=16) and write their result in the "total" box. The player finished the game with a score of 16 points.
Game Variants
2-Player Game
The game proceeds the same way as in the basic version, with the difference that during one round each player serves not one but two customers:
- player A rolls all the dice and chooses one of them (then cuts flowers from their fields),
- player B chooses one die (then cuts flowers from their fields),
- player A chooses the second die (then cuts flowers from their fields),
- player B chooses the second die (then cuts flowers from their fields).
The round ends. 2 dice remain that were not chosen by the players.
After the round ends, player A passes the starting player token to player B. Now they will roll all the dice and choose one for themselves first. The remaining rules are unchanged.
1-Player Game
The goal of the game is to score as many points as possible. The game proceeds the same way as in the basic version, with the changes below:
- The player uses 5 dice. The white one is set aside in the box — it does not take part in the game.
- The game lasts 8 rounds. The player marks each round by coloring in the dots at the bottom of the sheet.
- In each round the player performs the actions below:
- colors in a dot (marks the round),
- rolls the five dice,
- chooses one of them, then cuts the corresponding flowers from their fields,
- chooses a second die, then cuts the corresponding flowers from their fields.
The round then ends. The player collects all the dice. They begin a new round by coloring in the next dot, then rolling the five dice and serving two customers by cutting the corresponding flowers.
- In the case of a "sale" — that is, cutting all the flowers of one color — the player scores 5 points.
- In this variant, the "-3" and "+3" points for unhappy customers are not used. The player only counts the number of tally marks (1 tally mark = 1 negative point). The remaining rules are unchanged.
Note! When you have used up the notebooks, you can print sheets with the flower layout and a new layout. Files are available at gry.nk.com.pl. You can also buy a set of 3 notebooks containing new worlds! More information at gry.nk.com.pl.
