Game Contents
- 1 game board
- 11 Zombies
- 1 Partisan
- 4 Dogs
Objective
Each player has a different goal:
- Zombie player: Get one zombie across the board to the city on the opposite side.
- Defensive player: Stop the zombie horde from invading the city by blocking their paths or by capturing them.
Setup
- Lay the game board flat on the table.
- Line up all 11 zombies in a single row on one side of the board, just within the cemetery.
- Place the partisan on the center square on the far side, just in front of the city.
- Position the dogs on the squares directly next to the partisan — two on the left and two on the right.
Game Play
Players take turns moving one of their pieces. The Zombie Player goes first. Only one piece may occupy a square at any given time.
Moving the Pieces
1. Zombies
- Can move one square forward per turn.
- Can exit the cemetery and enter the city.
- Cannot move onto a square occupied by any other piece.
- Cannot attack or remove the Dogs or Partisan.
2. Dogs
- Can move any number of unoccupied squares in a straight line — horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.
- Cannot enter the cemetery or the city (they must stay within the middle section of the board).
- Cannot capture zombies but can block them by occupying squares in their path.
3. Partisan
- Can move one square per turn in any direction.
- Cannot enter the cemetery or the city (they must stay within the middle section of the board).
- Can capture zombies by moving onto a square occupied by one. Captured zombies are removed from the board.
Winning the Game
- Zombie player: Wins if any one zombie enters the city.
- Defensive player: Wins by either capturing all zombies with the Partisan or blocking all remaining zombies with the dogs so that none can move forward.
Final Victory!
Play two rounds, switching roles after the first. The overall winner is the player who successfully wins one round as both the Zombie player and the Defensive player.
Publisher's Note
In general, defending the city side (the Partisan and the dogs) is more challenging than attacking with the zombies. To balance the game for beginners, the city side should take the first turn.
