Overview

  • Ages: 6 to adult
  • Number of players: 2 to 4
  • Equipment: Game board; 1 game insert; 24 balls (6 of each color: red, blue, green, yellow); 4 ball corrals
  • Approximate playing time: 10 to 15 minutes per game

Set Up for all Games

  1. Place the game insert face up under the game board so that the numbers and color circles can be seen through the holes.
  2. Place the game board so that each player has a flat side to shoot from. Once the game has started THE GAME BOARD CANNOT BE MOVED and players must shoot from their side of the board.
  3. Each player chooses a ball color and takes the 6 balls and matching color corral. Each player places the balls in the corral and sets it in front of him or her. Note: For a two player game of Bounce-Em-Straight or Hit 66, each player chooses 2 colors and plays with both.

Rules for Bouncing a Ball

A. To land a ball into a hole on the game board, you must bounce the ball ONLY ONCE on your side of the table. When the ball comes down, it must land somewhere on the game board.

B. Once a ball is on the game board, it cannot be moved. Even if the ball does not land in a hole, it cannot be moved -- EXCEPT IF STRUCK BY ANOTHER BALL OR IS FOUL.

C. A ball is considered foul and is forfeited if:

  • it bounces more than once before landing on the game board.
  • it misses the game board completely.
  • it bounces out of the game board.
  • it lands on top of any other balls already on the game board.
  • it is knocked out of the game board by another ball.

REFER TO THE Forfeit a Ball SECTION IN EACH GAME TO DETERMINE THE PENALTY FOR FOUL BALLS.

To Begin all Games

To determine who goes first in each game, all players bounce 1 ball into the game board at the same time. The player whose ball lands in the hole with the highest number starts the game.

Note: Balls that bounce out or are knocked out of the board during this round do not score.

Double Score

If a player's ball lands in a hole that matches the color of the ball, that player receives double points (2 times the number in that hole).

Ties

In the event of a tie, tying players bounce a ball again until the tie is broken.

PLAYERS RETURN THEIR BALLS TO THEIR CORRALS AND THE PLAYER WITH THE HIGHEST SCORE STARTS THE GAME. PLAY THEN PASSES, IN TURN, TO THE LEFT.

Bounce-Em-Straight

Object

To win the most balls by completing one or more rows of five balls in any direction on the game board.

Playing

In turn, each player bounces 1 ball into any open hole on the game board in order to complete one or more rows of balls in any direction (horizontally, vertically, or diagonally). The first player to land the ball that completes a row wins all 5 balls -- regardless of their color. This player removes the balls from the game board and places them into his or her corral. If a ball is knocked to another position on the game board, it must stay where it lands. Note: a player may win a row by knocking a ball already on the board into a hole that completes a row. Game play continues until all but one player runs out of balls. When a player runs out of balls, he or she is out of the game, but this may be only temporary (see Forfeit a Ball below).

Forfeit a Ball

When a player commits a foul, he or she must forfeit a ball (see Rules for Bouncing a Ball section C).

A. If the foul ball belonged to the player's own color group, it must be given to the player on his or her LEFT.

B. If the foul ball belongs to any other player's color group, it is returned to that player.

Winning

Game ends when all but one player has run out of balls. The player who has balls left in his or her corral is the winner!

Bounce-Em-All

Object

To be the player with the highest score at the end of the game.

Set Up

Pencil and paper will be needed to keep score.

Playing

In turn, each player bounces 1 ball into any open hole on the game board, aiming for the highest numbers and/or the numbers that match the color of their balls. Game play continues until each player has run out of balls.

Forfeit a Ball

When a player commits a foul, he or she must forfeit a ball (see Rules for Bouncing a Ball section C). In this game, a foul ball is set aside, out of the game, and is not counted toward any player's score.

Scoring

Once all players have shot 6 balls, add the scores. In turn, each player removes his or her balls one at a time adding the number of points which appear under each ball.

A. If a ball matches the color below it, you score double that number.

B. If 5 of your balls are in a row (horizontally, vertically, or diagonally), add a 10-point bonus to your score!

Winning

The player with the highest score is the winner. In the event of a tie, the tying players play again until the tie is broken.

For Longer Games

To extend game play, you may wish to play an agreed number of rounds. At the end of the rounds, the player with the highest score wins.

Hit 66

Object

To be the first player to reach 66 points -- or more -- by completing rows of 5 balls in any direction.

Set Up

Pencil and paper will be needed to keep score.

Playing

In turn, each player bounces 1 ball into any open hole on the game board. The first player to land the ball that completes a row (horizontally, vertically, or diagonally) -- WINS THE NUMBER OF POINTS IN THAT ROW -- regardless of their color.

When a player completes a row, he or she removes the balls from that row, adds up the number of points that appear under each ball (see Scoring section) and marks the total on the score pad. The balls from this row are then returned to the players with the matching color corrals.

Game play continues until one player reaches 66 points or more. If a ball is knocked to another position on the game board, it must stay where it lands. Note: a player may win a row by knocking a ball already on the board into a hole that completes a row.

Scoring

As each player wins a row of balls, he or she must add the number of points under each ball in that row and write down the total. If a ball from YOUR COLOR GROUP matches the color below it, you score double that number.

Winning

The game ends when one player reaches 66 points or more. The player to do this is the winner!

Bounce 21

Object

To score exactly 21 points -- or as close to 21 points as possible without going over -- using the least number of balls in all.

Set Up

Pencil and paper will be needed to keep score.

Playing

In turn, each player bounces 2 balls, one at a time, into the game board. Add the number of points under each ball. The balls are left in place on the game board.

Each player then takes one more turn and bounces the least number of balls needed to reach 21 points -- or as close to 21 points as possible without going over.

A. A player may not take more than 6 shots in one game.

B. If a ball being bounced in hits another ball already on the game board and moves it to another hole, the player whose ball it is must change his or her score accordingly.

Forfeit a Ball

When a player commits a foul, he or she must forfeit a ball (see Rules for Bouncing a Ball section C). In this game, a foul ball is set aside, out of the game, and is not counted toward the player's score.

Scoring

Each player must keep track of his or her score.

A. If a ball matches the color below it, you score double that number.

B. Balls that land on the number 1 may be scored as either one or eleven -- player's choice. However, balls that land on a matching color number 1 can be scored as either two or eleven.

Winning

The game ends when all players have completed their turns. The player with 21 points -- or closest to 21 points without going over -- is the winner.

Ties

In the event of a tie, the player who used the least number of balls wins. Note: If, for example, a player shot 6 balls, but only 4 balls landed on the board, the number of shots is still 6.
