Setup
Unless noted otherwise, setup is the same as in the base game.
The advanced rules should be used for the drafting of starting parcels.
Rail Building
Rail may not be built through Boston Common, though it may be built to it. As it is not a destination and does not have a destination icon, the icon played must be of the other end of the track segment.
Rail may not be built through the Power Stations, though it may be built to them. As they are not a destination and do not have a destination icon, the icon played must be of the other end of the track segment.
Movement of Passengers
The power generation at the company owned sites started out modest, but grew with time. Companies will only have power near the DC generating plants at first, though as time progresses the reach of the electricity will grow.
Lines connected to a power station will be able to move passengers along them normally up to the limit of consecutive segments as dictated by what round the movement takes place in.
- Round 1 & 2: 1 segment
- Round 3 & 4: 2 segments
- Round 5 & 6: 3 segments
The segment count is total segments the passenger is moved along, with no account for length of segment or ownership.
NOTE: This count is segments originating at a power station and going "out" from it. So a passenger moving from Parcel X to a Power Station to Parcel Y in Round 1 would be moving along two powered segments, since each segment touches the power station.
Any movement of passengers beyond this limit, or movement along track not connected to a power station at all, is considered to be utilizing a horse-drawn tramway car, and is treated differently than normal movement.
Horse Drawn Movement
Income for this type of movement is reduced to half (rounded down) the normal money payout (after any destination bonuses or upgraded track bonus).
Boston Common
Passengers may move through Boston Common, and the player's stress will be reduced by 1 for the entirety of the trip, no matter how many times the same passenger might pass through the Boston Common space.
