Game components
- 2 dice with shapes
- Game pad
- Game instructions
Every player also requires a pen.
Getting ready to play
Have the dice ready. Every player gets a pen and a sheet from the game pad and puts it in front of them. Then you are ready to go!
Goal of the game
Try to fill in the shapes on the die on your sheet wisely: Your goal is to circle as many numbers as possible and leave as few squares as possible empty. The game ends as soon as two players cannot fill in a shape in the same turn. Whoever has the highest score wins the game!
How to play
The player who last played a video game rolls the dice first. Said player is the active player and rolls both dice simultaneously. They choose one of the dice and fill the shape in on their sheet.
Then the other players may choose a shape each. Each player picks one of the two dice and fills in the according shape on their sheet.
But: If a fellow player chooses the same die as the active player, they have to replace the shape's circle with a cross on their sheet!
Example
Klaus-Jürgen has rolled two dice. He chooses to fill in one of them. The other players must then fill in either that die's shape (with the circle replaced by a cross) or the other die's shape.
The next player in a clockwise direction is the new active player and rolls the dice and so on and so on.
Choosing and filling in a shape
The following rules must be kept in mind when filling in a shape:
- The first shape cannot "float", it has to be filled in touching the bottom edge with at least one of its squares.
- First sketch in the shape's outline, then fill in the crosses and the circle. The shape can be rotated or mirrored, but the position of the circle in the shape may not be changed!
- You have to fill in one of the two shapes on your sheet in a turn. If that's not possible, you must forfeit your turn and not fill anything in. If you aren't able to fill in a shape whilst you are the active player, you also don't get to choose a die.
- If by filling in a shape one or more gaps arise (squares on the sheet over which at least one section of a shape was drawn), these are fully coloured in at once. They can not be filled in later. Any gap will result in a penalty point at the end of the game.
- Any additional shape must be filled in touching an already drawn-in shape at least with one side of one of its squares.
Point squares
On the game sheet, several squares are featuring a number. Whenever you are able to draw a circle around a number you get points for it at the end of the game. You don't get any points for all numbers not in a circle (no matter if crossed out, coloured in or left blank)!
Coloured rows
There are four coloured rows which can get you additional points. You can only get points for a coloured row by filling in all of the squares either with a cross or a circle. If there is a gap in one of these four coloured rows, you do not get any points for said row!
The first player to completely fill in a coloured row has to say it out loud and receives 4 points. They circle the according number on the bottom of their sheet. All other players cross out the 4 of the according colour. Whoever completes this row in a later turn receives 2 points, which can also be circled at the bottom of the sheet.
Should two players complete the same row in the same turn, then both players receive 4 points.
End of the game
The game ends as soon as two players are unable to fill in a shape in one turn (Do not forget: If you are able to fill in one of the two shapes then you have to do this!). Then each player calculates their points:
- For each coloured row which you were the first one to complete, you get 4 points. If someone else has completed it in an earlier turn, you get 2 points.
- Each number circled on the sheet gets you the according number of points. Crossed-out numbers do not get you any points. Add them up and enter the total in the corresponding box on the sheet.
- Gaps and squares on the sheet not filled in (neither circled nor crossed out), will get you a penalty point each. This also applies to all squares with numbers which remained blank! Add them up and enter the total in the corresponding box on the sheet.
Check which player has the highest score. They have won the game!
In case of a draw, several players are winners.
Example
Klaus-Jürgen has completed the orange and the violet row, the orange one as the first player. This gets him a total of 6 points. The circled numbers get him another 26 points. He did leave 7 squares blank and created 7 gaps though, thus he has to subtract 14 penalty points from the subtotal: He has achieved a total of 18 points.
