The Content of the Box

  • 1 wooden board
  • 4 light brown wooden blocks
  • 4 dark brown wooden blocks
  • 5 wooden meeples of different colours

The Game

Players, in turn order, move their blocks and create paths on which they can move their meeple. The first player who is the first to make their meeple reach any square of the opposite side is the winner of the match.

The Setup

Players sit down in front of each other, on the opposite sides of the board, they choose 1 meeple each and they split the blocks: one player will use light brown blocks, the opponent will use dark brown blocks. The first player places one of their blocks, standing up or lying, only on the first row (in this phase don't use the second row in any sense). Then their opponent repeats the same move with one of their own blocks (they are free to put them wherever they like, just remember to use only the first row). Players alternate in this way until all the blocks are placed. Then the first player places their meeple on one of their blocks and their opponent does the same.

The Turn

The first player then begins their turn. During their turn a player:

  • MUST move one of their blocks, excepting the one carrying their own meeple;
  • CAN move their meeple through their own blocks or the opponent's blocks, before or after having moved a block. A player can choose not to move the meeple for that turn. The meeple can only be situated on the blocks, it can never be placed directly on the board.

Once a player has performed one of both the actions described, the turn passes to their opponent.

The Block's Movement

The blocks can be moved in two ways (one movement per turn):

  • They can SLIDE one square space in every direction (excepting diagonal).
  • They can FLIP (from standing position to lying position and vice versa).

Remember:

  • The block that is carrying your own meeple MUST NOT be moved in any sense. Instead, if a block is carrying your opponent's meeple, it can be moved, but only with SLIDING movement (so it can't FLIP).
  • Blocks can not be moved outside the arena limits and they only can be moved if there is the space to do so.

The Meeple's Movement

The meeples MUST be placed ON a block, they can not be placed directly on the board in any sense. Players can move their meeple in any direction (excepting diagonal), only between adjacent blocks (blocks that have 2 faces touching each other). The meeple can climb up on standing blocks and climb down from them normally, there is no special movement required.

The meeple can be moved both on your own blocks and on your opponent's ones, following these rules:

  • When the meeple is moved ONLY on their own blocks, a player can make him cover any distance for that turn.
  • When the meeple is moved from their own block to an opponent's block and vice versa, the movement ends for that turn.
  • When the meeple is moved through an opponent's single block or between two opponent's blocks, it can cover only one space for that turn.

Remember:

  • The meeple, when it's situated on a lying block, has to be on one of the two parts of it (it can not stay on the middle).
  • The meeples block each other: a meeple can not end its movement on the same square of the other meeple and it can not even pass over it.

End of the Game

The first player who manages to move their meeple to any square of the opposite side of the board is the winner.

Important thing: in order to win, the meeple can also reach the opposite side on an opponent's block! Furthermore the game ends also when a player can not move any one of his blocks, because they're stuck by the opponent's blocks. The opponent, in this case, is the winner.
