Game Components

Add a number of Contraption Tokens as shown in the Lodge Layout image. A Contraption is represented in the Lodge by the designated Token A (if you own it, you may use the Model instead of this Token B). A Contraption also has additional rules and abilities, described below. Apply the following during the regular Game Setup.

  • 4 Contraption (Tokens to print and cut out)

Additional Setup

Apply the following during the regular Game Setup:

  • Steps 1, 2 and 3: instead of what is indicated in these points, arrange the Rooms and Cells as shown in the image in relation to the number of players participating in the game.

Once the Setup is complete:

  1. Place the Second Moon Cube on Slot 10, the Third Moon Cube on Slot 20, and the Black Rose Cube on Slot 30 of the Power Board.
  2. Place a Contraption on each tile indicated in the Lodge Layout image.

Scenario Rules

In It's a Trap! Mages have access to a new Physical Action and a new Action:

Handle (Physical Action):

  • Move 1. You can perform this Effect a number of times equal to your Speed Value. Every single "Move 1.", separated by a dot (.), is a different Effect and you can use all or only a part of them; nevertheless, you cannot use different Effects between one "Move 1." and the next. Unused "Move 1." Effects are lost.
  • Activate a Contraption at range 0.

Unbridled Search:

  • Choose one of your Ready Spells and discard it in your Memories. When you do, you may perform "Handle."

The following rules apply while playing this Legendary Scenario:

  • Deadly Traps: when a Mage activates a Contraption, they choose a side of the Room where they are and rotate the Contraption in that direction (in case it is represented by a Token, rotate the arrow in the chosen direction; in case you are using a Model, rotate the side representing the Trinacria in the chosen direction). After the direction has been chosen, the Mage inflicts 2 Damage into every other tile in the Lodge on the chosen direction's line of sight.
  • Living Arsenal: When an Event Card whose Effect applies in the Black Rose Phase is placed on the Event Board, the Black Rose inflicts 2 Damage to each Mage Model at range 0 from a Contraption.

Honorable Mention

At the end of the game:

  • The Mage with the most Trophies gains 4 Power Points. If tied, no Mage gains additional Power Points.
  • The Mage with the least Solved quests gains 4 Power Points. If tied, no Mage gains additional Power Points.

  • The Lodge Layouts (One, Two, Three, Four and Five Player) on page 3 of the source PDF are diagrams. They are not reproduced here; use the image in the source for the room and cell arrangement.
  • The Contraption token sheet (page 4 of the source PDF) is an image to print and cut out.
  • The source PDF renders some game icons as graphics rather than text. They are transcribed as words from their context and the base rulebook's conventions: the Black Rose emblem in Living Arsenal, the Damage icon as "Damage", the Trophy icon in Honorable Mention, the Power Points icon in Honorable Mention, the Mage Model icon at range 0, and the range-0 markers in Deadly Traps and Activate a Contraption.
  • The Legendary Scenario Cards referred to by the scenario are not part of this PDF and are not reproduced here.
