Black Forest
Can I place a small estate anywhere, and does Village Church count across estates?
The rulebook defines each board as its own estate.

The rulebook says to add a new Small Estate to the right side of your Domain. Other than that, layout is not important, because no effect uses nearby estates. Each board is its own estate, so the Village Church counts only empty spaces adjacent to it on its own estate.
