Gate Tiles

The card holds two Torii Gate tiles, printed one above the other. Each tile shows a Torii Gate artwork at its base and its reward icons at its top.

Gate Tile 1 (upper tile)

  • One Building icon.
  • One green fruit icon (no number printed, so one).

Gate Tile 2 (lower tile)

  • Two green fruit icons.
  • Two wildcard icons (four-coloured circles), shown with the number 2.

Using the Gate Tiles

Torii Gate spaces give the reward shown on the tile marking that Gate, in addition to the VP and Amulets of an Illumination space. See the base rulebook, "Paths of Wisdom: Torii Gate Spaces (A and B)". A "wildcard" icon lets you take Resources of any type, as many as indicated, as described in the base rulebook under "Resources".

Disclosed Gaps

  • The card does not print setup or placement instructions. These tiles are Torii Gate tiles of the same kind as the base game's A and B tiles, so the base rules for Torii Gate tiles are assumed to apply to them. This is a judgment call, not printed on the card.
  • The card does not mark either tile as type A or type B. Neither tile's type is stated here.
  • The card does not name the green fruit icon or the Building icon. Their exact resource or building type is not spelled out in this transcription.
