Components
- 15 cards (3 x cat, 3 x dog, 3 x pig, 3 x donkey, 3 x hen)
- 16 double-sided tiles:
- 15 animal tiles (3 x cat, 3 x dog, 3 x pig, 3 x donkey, 3 x hen)
- 1 special tile
Goal of the Game
During the game, players turn over the tiles lying on the table. When 5 identical tiles are showing (that is, 5 tiles showing the same animal), players have a chance to score points. Only players who hold a card with that animal can score, and only if the animal is showing on five tiles.
The winner is the first player to score 3 points.
Setup
A. Lay the double-sided tiles on the table so that all of them show the same colour frame on top (each tile has a white frame on one side and a black frame on the other).
B. Shuffle the cards and deal one to each player. Players do not reveal to their opponents the animals on their cards.
C. Place the remaining cards in a face-down pile (cards must lie picture-side down) on the table, within reach of all players.
Playing the Game
The game is started by the player who has the cat (or the youngest player).
On his turn, a player may perform one of two actions:
-
Turn one of the animal tiles over to its other side and reveal the animal drawing on it. This must be done quickly, so that all players see the new picture at the same time.
If, after turning a tile over, one of the animals is showing on at least five tiles, each player who holds a card with that animal may try to score a point. To do so, he must be the first to shout the name of that animal! He then shows the card he holds.
Note! Only one player can score a point. If more than one player holds the same animal card, the one who shouted its name first scores the point.
If a player holds the right card and shouted the animal's name first, he does the following:
- He places his card in front of himself on the table. This is his 1 point.
- He draws a new card from the pile.
- He turns over any 2 of the 5 animal tiles of the animal for which he scored.
Note! Among the revealed pictures, 5 identical animals may appear again. A player who holds the right card may shout its name and score a point.
The player to the left of the player who scored a point continues the game.
Note! If a player makes a mistake (he shouts the wrong animal name, does not hold the right card, or there are not 5 identical animals on the table), he must put back on the bottom of the deck the card he earlier gained that gave him a point. If he has not yet gained any card, nothing happens.
-
Use the special tile.
Each side of the special tile gives different options:
- White-frame side: SWAP (PODMIANA). The player may place the card he currently holds on the bottom of the card pile and draw a new card.
- Black-frame side: EXCHANGE (WYMIANA). The player may exchange the card he currently holds with another player. He names the chosen player and takes that player's card, giving him his own card in return.
After each use of the special tile (whichever side), turn it over to its other side.
End of the Game
The game ends when one of the players scores 3 points (that is, has 3 won cards lying in front of him on the table). That player is the winner.
Variant for 2 Players
In this variant, none of the tiles showing an animal that was revealed by the previous player may be turned over.
Example: Kasia, turning over a chosen tile, revealed a cat drawing. The next player may turn over only a tile showing an animal other than a cat.
