Components

  • 18 BIM! Cards
  • 18 BAM! Cards
  • 18 BIM! Cards (the printed label on this set reads "BIM!", but the card art shows "BUM!"; these are the BUM! cards used in the game)
  • 18 Extension Cards (for 8+ players only)

Component note: arrange the cards of the same type to see an animation.

Setup

In games with 3 to 7 players, return the extension cards to the box; they won't be used.

  1. Shuffle the cards and deal them equally among players. Return any excess cards to the box.
  2. Hold your deck face up so you can only see the top card.
  3. The first player is the loudest one. If you wish, pick the first player randomly. At the beginning, turn order is clockwise.
  4. Agree on a time window to play a card. We suggest a time window of 3 seconds, but you can choose whichever length you wish.

No Time Window Variant: For a less hectic game, you may play without a time window.

How to Play

Objective: Get rid of all your cards before anyone else while avoiding making mistakes!

A Player's Turn

On your turn:

  1. Within the time window agreed during Setup, play the top card of your deck by placing it face up on any pile (empty or not). If the pile tile already has a card pile on it, place your card on top of it. If you don't play your card within the time window, you make a mistake and the round ends (see End of the Round).
  2. Resolve the action and effect according to the card you played and the other visible cards on the Ship tiles.

IMPORTANT! There can only be up to 3 visible cards at once (one per pile). Be sure to pile them neatly to avoid any confusion.

Actions and Effects

SituationActionEffect
Your card is the only one of its type (and there is not a "BIM BAM BUM!").Yell your word once (e.g. "Bum!")The next player in turn order takes their turn.
Your card is the second one of its type.Yell your word twice (e.g. "Bim-bim!")Skip the next player's turn in turn order (the player after this one takes their turn).
Your card is the third one of its type.Yell your word thrice (e.g. "Bam-bam-bam!")Invert the turn order! From clockwise to counterclockwise and vice versa. The next player in the new turn order takes their turn.
There is 1 BIM + 1 BAM + BUM (in any order).Yell "BIM BAM BUM!"All other players place their hand on the Ship tile in the middle. The last player to do so, made a mistake (see below).

The round continues until someone makes a mistake (see End of the Round) or plays their last card (see End of the Game).

End of the Round

If you make a mistake, the round ends and you are penalized, so be careful and pay attention.

Mistakes

  • You play a card when it's not your turn.
  • On your turn, you don't play your card within the time window.
  • You say the wrong word when you yell.
  • You place your hand when you yell "BIM BAM BUM!".
  • You are the last player to place their hand when someone else yells "BIM BAM BUM!".

Penalty

  1. Take the largest card pile from the center of the table and add it to the bottom of your deck.
  2. Return the smallest card pile from the center of the table back to the box.
  3. A new round begins, starting with the player that made the mistake. Turn order stays the same as last round.

End of the Game

The game ends when a player plays their last card without making a mistake. That player wins immediately!
