Baseball Highlights: 2045 – Coaches Expansion Rulebook
Card numbers CO-121 to CO-136.
This expansion provides 15 new unique players: Coaches. Each Coach brings in special abilities for one mini-game. Some Coaches will give you some super turns where you will have 2 Immediate Actions in a row; one from the Coach card and then one from the card you play.
This is the publisher's own one-page "Coach Expansion Rules" insert, transcribed from the printed sheet. The sheet's text says 15 Coaches; the card numbers run CO-121 to CO-136.
Game Modes
Beginner and Standard 2-Player Game Mode: Before the first game of the World Series begins but after you have seen the Buy Row, shuffle the 15 coaches and deal 4 to each player. Each player looks at the 4 dealt to them, keeps one and passes the others to their opponent. This continues until each player has 4 Coaches.
Expert 2-Player Mode: As above, except that Coaches may not be played for the first two mini-games.
4-Player Tournament Mode: Deal 3 Coaches to each player instead. Each player keeps one and then passes the remaining 2 to the player to their left. Repeat until all players have 3 Coaches. You may start using Coaches at any time.
General Rules
Before the first card is played in a World Series game, the Home Team player must announce if they are using a Coach. If they are, they place the Coach face up next to their mat. The Visiting Team now decides if they want to use a Coach and if they choose to, places it next to their mat.
A Coach is discarded before the next mini-game begins, so the Coach ability must be used or lost.
Details on the Coach Abilities
The timing of each Coach ability depends on the type of ability itself and is described below:
Brawl: This Immediate Action is taken before you play a card. Take the player on top of your opponent's In Play stack and remove it from the game (put it back in the box). Also, remove any Batters from Threatened Hits that were on that card. Then, put the top card of the Free Agent deck face up on your opponent's In Play stack. That player is now part of your opponent's team. Ignore the Immediate Action on this new card but your opponent does place Batters for any Threatened Hits on the card. Now play the rest of your turn normally. Remove this Coach from the game after using this action.
Double Steal: This Immediate Action is taken before you play a card. Advance any one of your Base Runners 2 bases (even a Slow Runner). Remove from the game after using this action.
Triple Play: This Immediate Action is taken before you play a card. Remove up to 3 Base Runners from your opponent's Stadium Mat. Even Fast Base Runners can be removed. Remove from the game after using this action.
Bullpen: This Immediate Action is taken before you play a card. Cancel all hits in your opponent's Hit Boxes (vs. either a Natural or a Robot depending on the Coach). If you cancel all Hits this way, the Immediate Action on the card you play next will not affect the opponent's Hit Boxes as they are already cancelled. Remove from the game after using this action.
Scout: This Immediate Action happens right before you perform your Buy Round. Turn over the top three cards from the Free Agent Deck and put them next to the Buy Row. This gives you more choice of players to buy. After your Buy Round, shuffle any of these three cards you did not buy back into the Free Agent Deck. Remove from the game after using this action.
Fan Favorite: This Immediate Action happens right before you perform your Buy Round. Add 5 to your total revenue for buying players this round. Remove this Coach from the game after using this action.
Base Running: One Type of player (depending on the Coach) becomes Fast for the entire mini-game. Whenever this Type of player gets a Hit for you, place a Fast Batter on Home Plate, ignoring their normal speed.
Steal Signs: This Immediate Action is taken before you play one of your cards in a mini-game. Look at your opponent's hand. Remove this Coach from the game after using this action.
Bench: All of your players gain the PH ability for the entire mini-game. This means you can discard any of them during the game to bring in a Pinch Hitter. Remove this Coach from the game after using this action.
Batting: All your players of the Type listed (Natural or Cyborg depending on the Coach) gain a Single in their Hit Box for the entire mini-game.
Defense: All your Robots gain the Glove ability for the entire mini-game.
Baseball Highlights: 2045 – Rally Cap Expansion Rulebook
The Rally Cap expansion provides 15 new players. Two new Immediate Actions in this expansion (Rally and Closer) depend on whether your team is ahead or behind when you play them. Teamwork Immediate Actions will apply based on the Naturals on your team.
This rules sheet is the official one-page publisher insert for the Rally Cap expansion (15 cards, RC-136 to RC-150), transcribed from the full-size reference image published in the BGG image gallery (image 8736308). It is a reference sheet rather than the full expansion rules document, so it covers the expansion's own new rules only; the card-by-card text is printed on the cards. It is played together with the Baseball Highlights: 2045 base rulebook. The printed Teamwork text reads "Robot of Cyborg", transcribed as printed.
Closer
Closer: If you currently have more scored runs than your opponent, cancel all Hits from your opponent's Hit Boxes, whatever type of player it is. Has no effect if you are currently tied or behind.
Hold
Hold: If you currently have fewer scored runs than your opponent, cancel all Hits from your opponent's Hit Boxes, whatever type of player it is. Has no effect if you are currently tied or ahead.
Teamwork
Teamwork: This Action allows Naturals to work together in a Lineup. In Rally Cap, when you play Teamwork, it adds an additional Hit to the next card you put In Play if that next card is a Natural. If it is a Robot of Cyborg, there is no effect. Other expansions introduce additional Teamwork effects.
Rally
Rally: If you currently have fewer runs scored than your opponent, these Immediate Actions can help you generate Hits.
Rally: If behind, [HIT] - Execute the listed Hit or Hits in order.
Rally: If behind, all your remaining players add a Single to their Hit Box - Add an additional [Single] after all other Hit Boxes on any future cards played in this mini-game (including Extra Innings). This applies even if you are no longer behind when the new card is resolved. This Hit is treated as an additional Hit Box for all purposes.
Rally: If behind, your next player adds a Home Run to their Hit Box - Your next player (if any) will add a Home Run Hit Box after all other Hit Boxes on the card. This is treated as an additional Hit Box for all purposes.
Baseball Highlights: 2045 – Naturals & Magna Glove Expansion Rulebook
This expansion adds ten Natural player cards (NM-151 to NM-160) to Baseball Highlights: 2045. Its cards carry the Magna Glove, Teamwork, Clutch and Stolen Base abilities.
No rulebook for this expansion has been published. The text below is the printed ability text of the ten cards, transcribed from card-face images in the creator's card sheet of the Tabletop Simulator Workshop mod "Baseball Highlights 2045 - English With Expansions" (Steam Workshop 1803946195). It is not a publisher document. It plays with the base Baseball Highlights: 2045 rulebook, which explains the Immediate Action box and its D, O and S markings.
Natural Cards
Each card below is a Natural. Its name, home city and card number are printed on the card, followed by the printed ability text. Where the card shows outcome boxes (Single, Double, and so on), they are listed as printed. The base game's stat numbers, position icons and outcome pictograms are not transcribed here; the base rulebook explains them.

Card Notes
- The ability box on each card carries a small coloured letter at its right edge. Magna Glove cards print a red D. Teamwork, Clutch and Stolen Base cards print a green O. The base rulebook defines these markings as the Immediate Action box shading and letter: D is Defensive, O is Offensive and S is Special.
- Magna Glove is printed on five cards: NM-151, NM-152, NM-153, NM-154 and NM-160.
- Teamwork is printed on three cards: NM-155, NM-156 and NM-158. Their wording refers to Naturals "already played this game", which is how the card text is printed.
- Clutch (NM-157) and Stolen Base (NM-159) are printed on this expansion's cards as they appear on the card faces. The keywords themselves are explained in the base rulebook.
Baseball Highlights: 2045 – Robot Hitters Expansion Rulebook
The Robot Hitters expansion provides 10 new Robots and introduces 3 new Immediate Actions.
This rules sheet is the official publisher insert for the Robot Hitters expansion (cards RH-161 to RH-170), transcribed from the full-size reference image published in the BGG image gallery (image 8736917). It covers only the expansion's own rules; it is played together with the Baseball Highlights: 2045 base rulebook.
Cloning
Cloning: Allows you to use any Immediate Action you have already played in this mini-game. This means you can only use an Immediate Action that is in your In Play stack.
Cloning is an Offensive Immediate Action and so cannot be used for the Visitor's Save as that only allows you to use a Defensive Immediate Action.
During Extra Innings, you choose which card in the In Play stack to clone when it is your turn to resolve your Immediate Action.
Gambler
Gambler: This Immediate Action is resolved during Step 3 of your turn, after your opponent has resolved their Hit Boxes. Reveal the top card of the Free Agent deck and place Threatened Hits from that card as Batters on your Home Plate using the speed of the card with the Gambler ability. Then place the revealed card on the bottom of the Free Agent deck. The Gambler Robot stays in your In Play stack.
Replace
Replace: Remove the card being put In Play from the game. Draw the top card of the Free Agent Deck and put this new card on top of your In Play stack instead. Use the new card's Immediate Action and Hit Boxes. This card is now part of your team.
Baseball Highlights: 2045 – Cyborg Pitchers Expansion Rulebook
The Cyborg Pitchers expansion provides 10 new Cyborgs and includes a new Slider pitch as well as an improved Pick Off.
This rules sheet is the official publisher insert for the Cyborg Pitchers expansion (10 cards, CP-171 to CP-180), transcribed from the full-size reference image published in the BGG image gallery (image 8736919). It covers only the expansion's own rules; it is played together with the Baseball Highlights: 2045 base rulebook.
Pick Off
Pick Off: This is an improved Pick Off that removes all Base Runners.
Slider
Slider: Cancels all Hits vs. any Type of player as long as you have previously played 2 Cyborgs during this mini-game. (Do not count the Cyborg being played)
Baseball Highlights: 2045 – Errors! Expansion Rulebook
This expansion includes new Immediate Actions based on game errors, including two that can remove a player from the game.
This rules sheet is the official publisher insert for the Errors! expansion (cards ER-181 to ER-195), transcribed from the full-size reference image published in the BGG image gallery (image 8737534). It covers only the expansion's own rules; it is played together with the Baseball Highlights: 2045 base rulebook.
Errors! Expansion Rules
15 Cards ER-181 to ER-195
Immediate Actions
Bean Ball: Make a Check from the Free Agent deck by trying to match the type of your opponent's top card in their In Play stack with the revealed card. If successful, your opponent's card and any Threatened Hits are removed and that card is returned to the box. Your opponent immediately replaces that card with a card of their choice from their Minor League player(s). The replacement Player is put on top of your opponent's In Play stack but no Immediate Action or Threatened Hits on the card take place. The replacement card counts for revenue during the Buy Round. In the rare case your opponent has no Minor League players available, Bean Ball has no effect as the condition for replacing their card with a Minor League player cannot be met.
Contact: If your opponent uses any Glove action on any of your Threatened Hits from this card, those Hits become a Single instead of being cancelled.
Error: Opponent's Gloves (of any kind) will only work if the opponent makes a successful Check against the Free Agent Deck for the Type of player (Natural, Robot, Cyborg) noted. If the Check card revealed does not match the Type, the Glove Immediate Action has no effect.
Quick Eye: Cyborg out of game & replace with Minor Leaguer: If your opponent's topmost card In Play is a Cyborg, and if you make a successful Check for a Robot, your opponent's Cyborg card and any Threatened Hits are removed and the card is returned to the box. Your opponent replaces that card with a card of their choice from their Minor League player(s). The replacement Player is put on top of your opponent's In Play stack but no Immediate Action or Threatened Hits on the card take place. The replacement card counts for revenue during the Buy Round. In the rare case your opponent has no Minor League players available, Quick Eye has no effect as the condition for replacing their card with a Minor League player cannot be met.
Quick Eye: Wild Pitch: If your opponent's topmost card In Play is a Cyborg, all of your Base Runners (in normal order) advance 1 base, irrespective of their speed.
Baseball Highlights: 2045 – Big Fly! Expansion Rulebook
This expansion adds new Immediate Actions based on batting, including a few new pitches.
This rules sheet is the official publisher insert for the Big Fly! expansion (15 cards, BF-196 to BF-210), transcribed from the full-size reference image published in the BGG image gallery (image 8737540). It covers only the expansion's own rules; it is played together with the Baseball Highlights: 2045 base rulebook.
Hit & Run
Hit & Run: When resolving the Threatened Hits of this card, all of your Base Runners advance one extra base from each Hit on this card, ignoring the normal bonus from Runner speed. For example: When resolving a Single, all Base Runners would advance 2 spaces, irrespective of their speed. This also applies to any new Base Runners created by previous Hits on this card.
Pinch Runner
Pinch Runner: Upgrade all current Base Runners to Fast: Replace all blue and white pawns on your bases with red pawns.
Quick Eye: 2 Walks
Quick Eye: 2 Walks: If your opponent's top card is a Cyborg, you get a Walk followed by another Walk. No effect if your opponent's last card is not a Cyborg.
Sinkerball
Sinkerball: If your opponent has a Base Runner on 2nd and/or 3rd, cancel all of your opponent's Threatened Hits, removing all Batters from their Home Plate.
Baseball Highlights: 2045 – Ballparks Expansion Rulebook
The Ballparks Expansion adds 10 cards that provide a new game mechanic, Home Ballpark.
This rules sheet is the official one-page publisher insert for the Ballparks expansion (10 cards, BP-551 to BP-560), transcribed from the full-size reference image published in the BGG image gallery (image 8736304). It is a reference sheet rather than the full expansion rules document, so it covers the expansion's own new rules only. It is played together with the Baseball Highlights: 2045 base rulebook.
Home Ballpark
When playing with Ballparks, each player is dealt two random ballpark cards and selects one for their home ballpark. The other card is discarded face down. Whenever a player has the Home Field, the effect of their home ballpark applies. Ballpark effects apply to both players.
Ballpark Effects
Hayes Park
Small Park: When placing Threatened Hits, all Double Threatened Hits become Home Runs if the FA Deck Check Type matches the Batter.
Ridback Meadows
Large Park: When placing Threatened Hits, all Home Run Threatened Hits become Double if the FA Deck Check Type matches the Batter.
Selinker Stadium
Robot Chargers Fail: When placing Threatened Hits, reduce ALL Threatened Hits for Robot Players by 1 if the FA Deck Check is a Robot.
Leo Greens
Super Astro Turf: When playing any type of Glove, all Single Threatened Hits are immune to Glove effect if the FA Deck Check Type matches the Batter.
Lehmann Park
High Pitcher's Mound: When playing a Cyborg, it cancels ALL Threatened Hits vs. any Player if the FA Deck Check Type is a Cyborg.
Seegert Gardens
Real Grass: When playing any type of Glove, improve the Glove to Magna Glove (cancels 2 Hits) if the FA Deck Check Type is a Natural.
Fitz Field
High Grass: When placing Threatened Hits, all Single Threatened Hits are cancelled if the FA Deck Check Type matches the Batter.
Lucky Fields
Sold Out Park: The winning team gains +2 Revenue for their Buy Round.
The Brick House
Low Pitcher's Mound: When playing a Cyborg, it cannot affect ANY Threatened Hits if the FA Deck Check Type is a Cyborg.
Poelzing Grounds
Windy Park: When placing Threatened Hits, all Threatened Double Hits become Threatened Triple Hits and all Threatened Triple Hits become Threatened Home Run Hits if the FA Deck Check matches the Batter.
Example of Ballpark Effect
The current game is at Ralph's Home Field, Ridback Meadows. Mike plays Barry Sosa who threatens Home Run, Home Run. When these Threatened Hits are placed, a check is made against the FA Deck to determine whether the ballpark effect happens.
Ralph draws a Natural, which matches the Barry Sosa player Type. Both Home Runs are reduced to Doubles! If Ralph had drawn a Robot or a Cyborg, then the Threatened Home Runs would both stand.
Note that this effect applies to both players when placing Threatened Hits.

This expansion adds new Immediate Actions for the Home Team as well as for Extra Innings. It contains 15 cards, HC-561 to HC-575.
This rules sheet is the official one-page publisher insert for the Home Cookin' expansion, transcribed from the full-size reference image published in the BGG image gallery (image 8738435). It covers the expansion's own new rules only; the card-by-card text is printed on the cards. It is played together with the Baseball Highlights: 2045 base rulebook.

Remove the "Rally Relief" card from the game and replace it with the revealed Cyborg. Resolve the Cyborg's Immediate Action and Threatened Hits as normal. Return the remaining turned up cards from the Free Agent Deck back to the bottom of the deck.

Baseball Highlights: 2045 – Double Trouble Expansion Rulebook
This expansion does not provide any new Immediate Actions. However, it does introduce cards with two Immediate Actions. These cards are more flexible, but generally have stricter conditions for them to take effect. Some cards will not be able to be played for both effects.
This rules sheet is the official one-page publisher insert for the Double Trouble expansion (15 cards, DT-576 to DT-590), transcribed from the full-size reference image published in the BGG image gallery (image 8739450). It is a reference sheet rather than the full expansion rules document, so it covers the expansion's own new rules only. It is played together with the Baseball Highlights: 2045 base rulebook.
Double Trouble Expansion Rules
15 Cards DT-576 to DT-590
This expansion does not provide any new Immediate Actions. However, it does introduce cards with two Immediate Actions. These cards are more flexible, but generally have stricter conditions for them to take effect. Some cards will not be able to be played for both effects.
Example: Leadoff: Double (if this is your first card played) AND Hero: Triple (if in Extra Innings). "First card played" and "Extra Innings" are mutually exclusive conditions.
Cards with Two Immediate Actions
If both effects can meet the conditions for play, you may decide the order in which to execute the Immediate Actions. Each Immediate Action stands on its own and only depends on its own conditions for effect.
One card however (Brian Altuve - DT587), does depend on what happens with the first listed Immediate Effect.
The card says "Glove: Cancel 1 Hit AND If 1st Glove cancels a Home Run, cancel another Hit." The second Immediate Action will only happen if the first Immediate Action cancels a Home Run.
