  • 25 cards with large animals (dog, cat, horse, cow, pig) in different colours (red, blue, green, yellow, violet)
  • 25 cards with four different animals each

Object of the Game

On the cards with four different animals each the fifth animal is missing. You have to find the corresponding animal card on the table. Whoever has found the right animal first receives the animal card. The player with the most cards wins the game.

Preparation of the Game

The cards with the sad and those with the smiling farmer Hermann on their backs are shuffled separately. The cards with the sad farmer are put into the middle of the table in a deck face down. The cards with the smiling farmer are spread on the table around this deck face up.

Attention: Each player should easily be able to touch and recognize each card.

Playing the Game

The youngest player starts. He turns around the card on top of the deck. Four animals in four different colours can be seen on the card. The fifth animal with the fifth colour is missing. This animal must be found among the cards with only one animal. Who can find the animal first?

Example: The card on the deck shows a yellow dog, a violet cow, a blue horse and a green pig. The red cat is missing.

As soon as a player has discovered the missing animal of the right colour among all the uncovered cards, he quickly puts his finger on the card and shouts: "Here is the red cat" (see example). Whoever has touched the right card first, wins the top card of the deck. He places it in front of him and turns around a new card of the deck.

In this way you go on playing round by round. During the entire game all 25 cards with the single large animals remain open and in the same position on the table.

Ending

The game ends if the last card of the deck has been given to someone. The winner is the one who has got the most cards in the hand. He is the one who has made farmer Hermann happy again.
