Game Idea

Each round, one player, called the BAM! Master, reveals a red BAM! card. All other players now try to fill the gap in that card's text with one of their grey word cards, as wittily and originally as possible. The BAM! Master then decides which suggestion they like best and which they find forgettable. In turn, each player gets to be BAM! Master and pass their strict judgement on the indecently good ideas of the other players.

Components

The game consists of 220 cards:

  • 41 red BAM! cards
  • 162 grey word cards
  • 6 red blank cards and 11 grey blank cards

The blank cards let you bring your own ideas into the game and create your very own BAM!.

Card examples printed in the rules: "My daily champion breakfast consists of bread rolls, blood sausage and BAM!." (red BAM! card) and "Englishman at the hotel pool" (grey word card).

Identifying the Expansion's Cards

Cards from BAM! - Ihr habt es so gewollt are recognised by the symbol in the bottom left corner of each card. If you also own the BAM! base game, you can simply shuffle the cards from BAM! - Ihr habt es so gewollt into the BAM! base game.

Gameplay

First, sort the cards by colour and keep the colours separate. Place the red BAM! cards in a face-down stack in the middle of the table. Then deal 10 grey word cards to each player. Place the remaining word cards in a face-down draw pile next to the BAM! cards.

The ugliest player starts the game and is the BAM! Master in the first round. They reveal the top red BAM! card. Then they read aloud the text on the card, which contains the word BAM! once or twice. Each player except the BAM! Master considers which of their grey word cards would best replace BAM! on the red card. For example: if the red card's text reads "BAM! brings variety to every relationship!" and a player has the grey card "Penis Propeller", they would mentally replace BAM! as follows: "A Penis Propeller brings variety to every relationship!" Each player does this with all of their grey word cards and then decides on one of their cards.

As soon as you have all decided on one of your cards, place the corresponding grey card face down in the middle, all at the same time.

After the BAM! Master has read all the combined sentences, they decide which combination they like best and name that grey card the winning card. The player who played this winning card receives this grey word card as a victory point. (Correspondingly, for red BAM! cards that contain the word BAM! twice: the player with the best combination takes one of their two played grey word cards as a victory point.) The BAM! Master then selects the combination that causes them the least enthusiasm. The player who played this grey card (or these grey cards) receives the red BAM! card as a minus point. Keep your victory points and minus points in one stack in front of you.

Now place all other grey cards played this round on a discard pile.

Then everyone except the BAM! Master draws 1 or 2 grey cards from the draw pile, so that each player again has 10 grey word cards in hand.

A new round can now begin. The BAM! Master of the new round is the left-hand neighbour of the previous round's BAM! Master.

How Do the Red BAM! Cards That Contain the Word BAM! Twice Work?

For these cards, each player chooses 2 of their grey word cards. Place the card that replaces the first BAM! on top of the card that replaces the second BAM!.

Caution: the BAM! Master must under no circumstances shuffle these cards, so that the cards and their order do not get mixed up!

The BAM! Master takes all the played grey word cards and lays them out face up in front of them. They then read aloud all the suggested combinations, replacing BAM! with the text of the respective word card. It can happen that a grey word card does not fit grammatically perfectly into the sentence on the red BAM! card. It is the BAM! Master's task to adjust the sentence or the word grammatically so that the resulting sentence makes sense and is grammatically correct.

Example: "BAM! has influenced my family planning" + "Short-statured circus artists" should be read as "Short-statured circus artists have influenced my family planning."

What to Do If the Pile of Grey Cards Runs Out?

If you play for so long that you run out of grey word cards, simply shuffle the discard pile of grey word cards and use the cards as a new face-down draw pile.

End of the Game

Once every player has been BAM! Master once, twice, three times, or as many times as you like, the game ends. Now add up your victory points and subtract your minus points from them to calculate your total points. In case of a tie, the winner is the player who has won more grey cards. If there is still a tie, the players share the coveted and incomparable title "The True BAM! Master".
